I was awoken by a knock. I groaned and shoved my head further into my pillow because I was just not ready to deal with my parents at that moment. How did sleep end so quickly?
The knock sounded again. It was unlike my servants to continue knocking, they knew well not to disturb me too much. Unless it was something important. I lifted my head up and was confused when I realised it was pitch black. I glanced at my clock to see it was the middle of the night.
I sighed before grabbing my glasses and heading to the door. I opened it and found no other than the servant boy from earlier. He was leaning against the door frame, when I opened the door he looked up at me.
"Hey," his voice was husky and seductive.
"What do you want?" I huffed. I hadn't expected him to go through so much trouble, I was surprised he knew which room was mine but then again he probably cleans it. I had never really met many of my servants and those who I have I can't remember them very well. I've had servants since I was a child so I'm used to having them around and not paying them too much attention.
"Awe come on, don't be like that." Dan straightened and stroked my chin. His touch was warm and surprisingly gentle. "I thought we could get to know each other, I'll start shall I?"
"Please leave," I told him defiantly. I didn't want him around any longer because if my parents were to see him they would not be at all pleased with the situation.
"My names Dan," He continued as though I had said nothing. He held out his hand for me to shake but I ignored it.
"Okay Dan," I started. "Please leave."
His eyes were sparkling and a smile played on his lips. I wished I'd not answered the door, it was too early in the morning to deal with this. I tried to close the door but Dan put his foot in the way and moved closer to me. I backed away as he advanced which truly was a stupid mistake because it allowed him to enter my bedroom.
He looked around my room. It was pretty bare and I was sure he hadn't found whatever it was he was looking for.
"Tell me something about you," he encouraged. I gave him a hard glance but it didn't seem to intimidate him at all. "Okay okay. I'll figure it out..." he began to look at me really closely. He moved in next to me and held onto my shoulders. I was too shocked to speak because the only person to have ever been so close to me had been a princess I had to dance with. The closest I had got to a servant was when I was younger and begged one to play hide and seek with me, my father was furious with the servant for taking time off from doing work to play. Imagine what mother and father would think if they saw this right now.
"You look extra hot with bed hair and glasses," he whispered.
"I don't have time to deal with you," I snapped and pushed him away. "Who do you think you are? You'll be lucky if I don't tell my parents about this behaviour. Leave. Now!" Dan's smile faltered for a split second and he suddenly looked very sad. I felt guilty for yelling at him but pretty soon he was smiling again.
"Okay, fair enough whatever. See you around." He left without another word.He didn't seem okay with it, he seemed far from okay. I wondered why he had been sad but it's not every day you get yelled at by the prince and forced out of a room. I doubted anyone had ever rejected Dan... I mean how could you? If I was just a regular person I would find his personality charismatic, even if he was a pain. But I'm not an ordinary person, I can't get close to Dan and it's better to send him away now rather than later.
AN: I wasn't going to update until tomorrow but I've had less work to do tonight than I had previously thought ^-^
