I flip up my skate board and sigh, watching my gang laugh and do 360's. What a beautiful day for mischief. What to do today? Spray paint Homer's house? Sneak into Kings Island and manage the rides alone? Search ally ways and beat the losers up? Hang out at a school or two and convince the kids that we're cool? Troll people? BEEN THERE! DONE THAT! Anyhow, we needed money for food. We wasted enough money on whiskey and drugs. Hey, those people want money, so they'll sell to any kind.
Anyway, I'm Nat, The three boys are, Hunter, Neil, and, Aaron. The other girl, is Hope. We do what we want. Eat gum off the black top? That's Hunter. He'll do any dare you choose. He will sky dive and break his neck for fifty cents. Any dare as long as he gets cash or coins. Text for three days STRAIGHT? That's Hope. She will text for HOURS ON END. She has every app and has conquered them all. Beaten every person in every game... all that crap. But 70% of the time she has no wifi so she breaks down into her own system on mind games. I have no idea what she does in her mind when she plays those.
Can shut his mouth for over a week? That's Aaron. He's the gang's smarts, but he's also really quiet.. Will get into and out and door? That's Neil. He's the gang's strength and Houdini. Get us out of ANYTHING. Cop chase, fire, mess, chains... you name it. Can draw, or do anything involving, art, skate boarding, stitching or graffiti? That's me. I'm strong, but not as strong as Neil. Heh. No way.
..................
God damn. I'm all out of breath. The cops recently chased us because they caught us spray painting, "Fuck" on Homer's outside wall. We hid in an ally.
"Well THAT cop was a bastard." Pants Hunter.
"No shit." I say heavily, rising. "I think he's gone..."
Neil breathes hard and leans his head on the brick wall. Hope wipes the sweat from her forhead and pulls out her phone.
"Not a good time Hope." I say looking left and right.
"Can we continue trying to get money?" Moans Aaron. I nod.
Hunter jumps up and says, "Lets get going then!"
He creeps out of the ally and looks left. He freezes with eyes the size of golf balls. He quickly retreats.
"What is it?" I ask, expecting its the cops.
"I don't know... It looked like someone with a bag or something..." He says. "But why would someone be out this late?"
A hundred pounds was lifted from my shoulders. Not the cops. But like he said, why would someone be out here at like midnight? The person walks in front of the ally and looks at us. Hope uses her phone light to we can see him.
It was a kid! Just a kid! What the heck? "Can we help you?" I say raising my eye brow.
The kid stares for a second and shakes his head. He smiles and says, "Just out for a walk. What about you?"
I swallow hard, and say, "Just getting some fresh air."
He nods then replies, "Have a home?"
I wanted to shake my head, no, but I didn't want help from an eleven year old, so I nodded.
"I don't..." The boy sighs. "Yes, I admit I don't. Can I possibly live with you? I can give you thirty bucks."
He shows the cash, and I hold my breath. I look back at the gang, and they nod.
"Alright kiddo. Your sticking with us." He gives the cash and I say, "But your with now. We are a group and you do what we do. Now come before the cops find us."
"Group?" His voice shakes. "You tricked me!"
I roll my eyes. We each boost each other onto the nearest roof on a trash can, and just as I get the boy up, I see headlights nearing to the ally.
"Crap!" I whisper, boosting myself up.
Once I'm on the roof, I motion for the gang to follow and we run across the roofs. We get to another ally and jump to stay there.
"I guess I wasn't PROPERLY introduced. I'm Mason." He says holding out his hand, smiling.
I shake his hand and say, "I'm Nat, that's Hunter, he's Neil, she's Hope, and that's Aaron."
Mason nods. There was a moment of silence before Neil says, "Lets go get food. I'm hungry."
"I think since this is Mason's money, we should spend it as he wishes." I say giving him the stink eye.
"Okay, then... I AM starving. So we can spend on food. But everyone get a cheap meal." Mason says.
I think for a second... then say, "Wait, meal? Like at a restaurant?"
"Duh." He says grinning.
We walk to The Pope's Diner and a waitress seats us.
"Thank you..." I say softly to Mason.
He nods, then says, "We can cuss, and do what we want... right?"
A mischievous look crosses all of our faces.
"Wait, what if they call the cops?" asks Mason.
"Damn it! I forgot. First off, there are wanted signs around with US on them, THEN... we can just run." I smirk. "Like we always do."
"No duh. We ALWAYS outrun those sluts." says Neil smirking.
I let out a laugh when suddenly, the waitress comes and asks if we're ready to order.
"Actually..." I start, pulling my gun from my shoe. "Yes. Three pounds of salad, fries, and fruit. Oh, and twenty four bottles of water and soda, please."
I aim at her head, then she says, scared to death, "W-w-would that b-be to go?" I smirk and nod. The others watch as she runs to the kitchen.
"What the hell?" asks Hunter.
"What? We have to spend our money better. Not on food." I say "Besides. Why Buy something when you can... steal it..."
I slap my for head. And the others give me the stink eye.
"God... I guess we don't need the money." I say. Mason moans, assuming he's out of the gang.
"FREEZE!" I here someone say.
Crap! I think.
"Mason. You can run right?" I whisper to him.
He nods. I noticed he was going to cry.
I smirk and say, "Because we're busting out of here."
I nod to the others and they nod back. Everyone knew what to do. Run.
I mouth, "Five... For... Three... Two..."
Suddenly we all knock over our chairs and sprint for the exit.
"FREEZE IN THE NAME OF THE POLICE!"
Yeah, right... I think. Just before I reach the exit, something make an impact in my shoulder and I hear a scream. My legs twist and I fall to the floor, with a bullet deep in my skin. The blood doesn't hesitate to pour out, fleeing from the foreign object. The edges of my vision blacken before I pass out.

AcciónI wrote this story when I was in elementary school. I won't be taking it down because it took me a lot of time and effort to write and it was the beginning of making long stories for me. It is *heavily* inspired by Maximum Ride by James Patterson.
