Aaron
I round the corner and see Nat and Neil bleeding, clutched close to each other. Dead. My eyes tear up. Nat is dead. So is Neil. And now I'm ruined, left with the fatass Hunter. I take their guns and fight back tears as I walk back to Hunter.
"Nat? Neil?" He looks eager. I shake my head and place down the guns. He pats my back. "Sorry man. She was a nice girl."
Somehow this rubs me the wrong way. He shouldn't be in my business. Ugh. I get up and sit on a log infront of the firepit.
"What now?" I stare into the fire. Hunter shrugs. I hear tinkering in the alley again and I can feel my veins pulse in my temple. Not again... I pull my gun and aim, waiting to see if it was a human or not. It was a girl about my age. Sort of looked like Nat but looked younger. Only with red hair and not dyed blond and cyan hair. She pushes a strand of hair behind her ear and gives us an unsure look.
"Sup." She tilts her head slightly back, in a quick manner, then waves. I wave back and look at Hunter. He looks at me then back at the girl. "Can I stick with you?"
"Well that's a first." I grin. She tilts her head. "I don't really know anyone who would actually trust someone else right off the bat." She snorts and shakes her head.
"I trust you because you're holding a gun. Know how to use it?" She loads her gun and gives me a glance, grinning. "Trust me. Trusting people is not my hobby."
I nod slightly. She continues, "I'm West by the way." She holds out her hand, and I greetingly shake her hand up and down.
"I'm Aaron. That's Hunter." I say, pointing to Hunter. He looks up and waves. "Do you have any other allies?"
"Well..." She ponders and her brow creases. "I had my older brother but a zombie got him. Infected him. He went after me and I had to shoot him. I cried over his remains. When the other zombies came I knew I had to leave him. I'll survive."
"One of my allies got.. Killed by the zombies. No idea how. I just saw her in her own pool of blood next to my other ally. I miss them." We both fight back tears now. It's so hard to say goodbye to someone you love.
"Yeah..." She sniffles and wipes her nose on her sleeve. "I'm sorry..."
She laces her fingers together in her other hand and we stand there quietly. We hear a gunshot and spring into action. I look at Hunter and he gets up too. I'm releived to see him not dead.
We lift our guns and aim them around, waiting for an attack. I look all around and see one on a roof. I shoot it down. It is not safe here. Not like this. I rather rot in hell than get infected and chase down loved ones. I never want to have to do that. I just wish I could dissapear in a magical flourish, if my life ended. Then I can see Nat. But killing myslef is not an option. I cannot show weakness to her like Neil did.
I just have to keep strong and live on until I die of infection or natural cause. I want my death to be quick. Not long and hurtful. Someone tackles me and drags me into the dark alley. Hunter punches the person. The person had a hood on. We yank it back.
"Doctor Looser?!" I yell. The face of the idiot was blacked out because of the punch.

ActionI wrote this story when I was in elementary school. I won't be taking it down because it took me a lot of time and effort to write and it was the beginning of making long stories for me. It is *heavily* inspired by Maximum Ride by James Patterson.
