Johns P.O.V.
It was very late at night but for some reason I couldn't sleep. Katy was sleeping next to me but I'm pretty sure she doesn't know that she is. I've been waiting for the day that we'll actually get to sleep in the same bed again but not like this. I want her to make this decision while she's sober. It just doesn't feel right.
My eyes just wander the very dark room trying to find a source of light but no light is to be found.
I move around a little to find a comfortable spot to sleep in until I feel Katy start to move with me. I stop moving to let her adjust a little before I begin to move again. I only moved an arm but somehow this woman knows when the slightest movement is made. As she moved I felt a pressure release off the bed and I realized she sat up.
"Katy?" I say quietly. I hear her take a deep breath and quickly jerk her body over the bed. She grabs the trashcan and begins to throw up. I immediately turn on the lamp and walk over to the other side of the bed. I grab her hair and pull it behind her head and begin to rub her back.
"It's okay, let it out" I whispered. I felt bad for her. She got way to drunk and now she's paying for it.
A little while later I see that she stopped. She sits up and looks at me. Her face is pale and fragile.
"Thank you" she says quietly. I gave her a small smile and began to speak.
"Are you okay?" I ask. Obviously she wasn't but it doesn't hurt to ask.
"Yeah. I'm fine." She says to me. I stand up and walk over to the other side of the bed and lay back down.
"Hey, lay down" I say in just over a whisper. She looks at me with a blank look but I know she heard me.
"Okay" she says back. She lays her weak body down and puts the blanket over herself. I reach over to the lamp that was turned on and flick it off.
"Goodnight Katy" I say. Right after that I hear rustling coming from Katy's direction. I feel an arm slither around my chest and I instantly knew what she was doing. She laid her head on me and whispered "goodnight".
I took my arm and wrapped it around her back and closed my eyes but I didn't fall asleep. I enjoyed it. I embraced her touch.
The next thing I knew I was waking up. I still had a pressure on my chest so I knew that Katy was still with me. I wasn't mad, why would I be? But I was worried. What if this was a big mistake? I mean we didn't do anything except sleep in the same bed together but I still had a strange feeling in my stomach.
As I was thinking everything through I loose my focus when I feel a movement coming from Katy. I close my eyes in hope that she was just re-adjusting herself but she wasn't. She stretched her arm out and plopped it back on my ribs. As she was moving I saw her left leg come out of the blanket and move itself on top of mine. How could a leg be so perfect?
She lifts her head up and checks her surroundings. Instead of being caught in an awkward situation I close my eyes and pretend I'm asleep. That was a bad idea.
I hear a gasp come out of her mouth and I felt an abrupt movement. I opened my eyes as if I had just woke up and the look on her face was not a look I had ever seen before. It was almost as if she was.. Scared of me.
"Why am I here?" She says quietly, keeping her distance.
"Uh Katy-" I begin to say.
"- just answer my question.. Please" she says.
"You got drunk and called me," As I was saying that I felt like shit. I don't know why but I just did.
"I brought you here" I continued.
"Why?" She asks, her eyes glaring into mine.
"Because I felt like you needed to be with someone." I replied.
"Why am I in here, next to you?" She says in a demanding tone.
"You asked to sleep in here. I was gonna sleep in the guest bedroom but you didn't want me too." I explain.
As she keeps asking questions about what happened last night I can see her settling down a bit.
She looks down and plays with her nail.
"Did we have.." She pauses. "No, no we didn't" I say before she can finish.
"Ok. Well I should go then." She says almost immediately.
She gets up and leaves the room. I get up also and follow her out.
"Katy wait!" I yell down the hall.
"What" she says as she keeps walking to the door.
"Aren't we gonna talk about this some more?"
"There is nothing really to talk about anymore." She says.
"Katy please don't go." I say quietly. She stops walking and looks back at me.
"What?" She asks. I have no idea what was going through my head but what ever it was, it was feeling extra rebellious.
I walked right up to her and grabbed ahold of her hands. I let one go and rested my hand on her cheek. I could hear her trembling breath but that's okay because mine was probably doing the same thing.
I moved my head closer to hers and whispered "Katy please don't go". Like a half a second later I felt a pair of hands wrap around my neck.
"Do it Mayer." I heard Katy whisper.
