Ever thought that all the shit was worth it? That all that shit you had been dragged through would be history after everything is put right? That you were about to make everything better but the result didn't work out the way you expected?

Well it's my life in a nut shell, well here on Sinistral anyway. I told you before that Lucas showed me Amelia as a Scar on purpose? That he did a lot of things on purpose? Well maybe it will all become clear. We were there. We had made the core. All we had to do now was destroy it and we would be able to take Lucas down, me fulfilling my own promise. I entered there with one goal, destroy that bloody core! But I also went in there thinking I'm hero and I'm about to become one to the whole of Sinistral. As I said before it was my worst ever mistake, thinking that. Biggest mistake I made in Sinistral. I didn't even think that it just seemed way too easy when we entered. None of it even found its way into my head. Did we destroy the core? Did we save Sinistral? Well what can I say? Sometimes it's just not that easy.

Zack and I are buzzing. Even if Lucas and his Scars could be right behind us, following us straight towards the core we just didn't care. We had put enough space between us and them. We ran. We didn't stop until we saw it. We stopped right in front of it. Our mouths falling open, we had never expected to see something so nice within Sinistral. It almost looked human, out of place. A temple stood tall, its height over powering. Its golden colour reflecting of the flames around it, the flames seemed to ram against it but nothing seemed to damage it in the slightly.

I couldn't quite believe my eyes. It had no way in or out apart from the two huge golden doors, locked tight. Other then its golden colour it has gems on it. All different colours, I hadn't seen so many colours like it, not since I had died. It was like it stripped away everything around it, like nothing could ever bring it down. "Wow," I whispered to Zack. "It's amazing, I never expected it to be this," he says. "Neither did I...are you sure this is the core?" I ask. Zack quickly took out the map and looked at it. "My vision is bad but not that bad. This is it Cayden. This is the core."

I didn't bother looking at the map, I believed Zack, I felt it too, this was the core, and this was it. It was overwhelming we had made it. There were times when I had thought we wouldn't, yet here we were, tiny in comparison to the size of the temple, it didn't look like the core but it felt like it, if that makes sense. Zack looked at me a little nervous "You ready?" he asked softly I turned to look at him and smiled with relief "You bet I am, lets do this."

We walked over to the huge golden doors, they were locked, we should have expected it but I guess our relief overpowered the thought of any more obstacles standing in our way because we were finally here; we were so close to achieving what we had set out to do. I stared at the doors deep in thought, wondering what was inside, whatever it was I hoped it was as normal looking as the outside, Zack had already took out his sword, he was studying the key lock in one of the doors, I looked at him, an eyebrow raised, "How is that going to help us get in?" I asked him, he was silent for a minute his eyes still focused on the lock, then he finally turned to me and confidently said with a smile "Just trust me."  Although there was something else there, I wondered whether it was shame, after all Zack had learnt how to open locks and doors for a reason, and every time he had used his skill to get us out of trouble here in Sinistral, it reminded him who had taught him and why. I knew he was feeling like that now, I could tell by the expression on his face, the expression he was trying to hide from me.

"Zack, I know this won't make you feel any better but as much as what you did on earth was bad, what he put you through. He isn't here anymore. Besides what would have I done without the skill he taught you? Look at the positive even if it's hard," I smile at him. He nods, I could tell my words hadn't helped much but they did a bit. He winked at me before he used the point of the sword to push it into the lock. I hadn't paid much attention to his lock picking skills before, this is the first time I've properly studied him. He then looked around him. "Cayden grab me that edge shaped rock," he says pointing to a rock that lay at my feet. I wondered why it was there but I didn't really care. I picked it up and Zack took it from me putting the sword back in his belt and using the rock instead.
