3rd Person POV
He kissed her one last time before letting her enter her truck. He waved as it sped away. She promised to keep him updated while she was away in war. Everyday he sat in the living room, staring out at the window for that one letter to come by,April 17th, 2014
Dear Brock,
I have some free time, I really miss you. We have no idea when we'll come home, it's so bad out here. I love you so much and I'll do my best to keep my friends alive, my captain alive, and most of all. Myself. I love you, have faith.
Yours Truly,
(Y/N) (L/N)He smiled at the letter and hugged it tight. He placed it in a frame and waited everyday for the next one.

Dear Brock,
Hi babe, we finally got out of that same old area we were in. We've moved to a new location but 2 of my closest friends and one of our medics was shot on the way here. I was injured in the cross fire but it's ok, it was only my arm. I miss you, have faith. Love you.
Yours Truly,
(Y/N) (L/N)He was getting a bit nervous but calmed himself down with a couple of video games while waiting for the next letter.

Dear Brock,
I'm so sorry I might have worried you. It's been so hard to find free time when there are people dying and gun shots everywhere. On the down side, my captain died, so they upgraded me to a lieutenant. I'm so happy but I'm injured again, this time my ankle. It hurts but I'll make it. Have faith, I love you.
Yours Truly,
Lieutenant (Y/N) (L/N)He took a sigh of relief but a new worry washed over him. He waited now for 4 years the next letter. But nothing came, he was gonna give up until a knock was on his door. He answered it and a woman in army clothes and her hat in her hands stood there.
"Brock?" She asked and he nodded. She sighed and looked at him. "We're sorry to inform you that Ms. (Y/N) (L/N) was KIA." She frowned. Brock shook his head as he couldn't understand.
"What-what does that mean?" He so end. She shook her head and whispered,
"Killed In Action, sir." She frowned as he broke down and fell on his knees. "All there was, was this letter and a picture." She handed both of them to him and started walking to her car. He unwrapped the letter.
Dearest Brock,
Hi honey, I hate to tell you but, I won't make it. My legs are paralyzed and I have lost to much blood. I am so sick and the camp has no way of taking care of me at the moment cause we are under attack. I may be killed but I will fight with the last amount of bullets I have in the pistol beside me. The picture is of a bike in a town we visited for celebration. It reminded me of how much you liked old cars and bikes so I took it for you. Hope you like it, I love you. Stay strong.
Love,
(Y/N) (L/N)[A/N]: I wrote this cause I was pissed. My oldest niece came home from school saying she was upset. I asked why and she said that when she stood for the pledge of allegiance, some of the kids didn't put a hand over their heart and some talked during the 30 seconds of silence. Let me be the first to say, what the fuck!? If you do that, why?! There are men and women fighting out there to keep you alive and learning. At least pay them a bit of respect, how would you feel if you weren't being honored for saving the country? Cause right now, men are fighting Isis so they don't get to us. I'm sorry for lashing out but it makes me mad to see some kids in this age think they're so cool that they don't even have to pay respects any more. Some even say, "I pledge alliance to the country of Mexico." Like I will punch you straight in the fucking face if I see a kid do that in highschool. No I wouldn't, but you get it. Please don't do that and please pay your respects..I still do. Anyway love you all!! Bye!!
