"Are you really sure you can't go to prom?" Mel asked for the hundredth time

"I'm not completely sure, but it's a possibility" I wasn't going to say how big the possibility was "Besides, I don't have a date for prom"

"But I really wanted you there" She whined

"I'll do what I can, but I can't promise anything"

"Thank you, thank you, thank you" She bounced up and down, the whole cafeteria staring

We headed towards our seats, the rest of the cheerios trailing behind us

"I need you to help me pick a dress" She said as we left the tray at the table and sat down "Mary, you needed to go pick one too, didn't you?"

"Yes" She said, nodding "If we're going we need to go soon or all the good dresses will be disappeared, if they haven't already"

"How 'bout we go this afternoon?" Mel asked

"Great!" Mary said with her mouth full

"I don't know, I'll have to ask" I said

"I could pick you up if you want to. Around five. Not too early, not too late"

"I'll ask" I said "And I'm definitely taking that offer" I said smiling at her

"Hey girls" Liam said, the football team behind him

All the girls that weren't facing them, including me, jumped a little when they heard him, not expecting it. Not me. I had heard them. Well, more specifically, their thoughts

"Hey boys" Mel answered

Ian sat to my left, Liam to my right, making me a sandwich. I could hear Mel's thought louder than the rest, she was so excited because Joe had sat beside her.

"A little space please, I can't breathe" I told both guys

Liam chuckled and moved slightly to the right, making Mel move closer to Joe

"Thanks" I said as I moved a little

Ian was quiet. He was the happy guy, he was never quiet. I ran through his thoughts, only to see that he was nervous about something

"Hey, are you alright?" I asked him, putting softly a hand on his shoulder

He looked at me and smiled "Yes, I'm fine" His blue eyes boring into mine

I smiled back "You're just a little bit quiet. You never are"

"It's nothing"

"If you want to tell me I'm all ears and I promise I won't tell anyone"

"No, it's fine"

"Okay, if you change your mind, you know where to find me" I said

smiling

"Oh, you are going to know in a few minutes" He thought

I raised an eyebrow

"What?" He asked

"No, nothing" I said as I turned away

"Can I talk with you later?" He asked

"Sure" I said, smiling reassuringly

"Are you feeling better?" Liam asked me, directing my attention to him

"What? Oh, yeah, thanks for asking"

My head hadn't hurt again, but just in case I took out a painkiller and swallowed it.

"Who are you going with?" I heard Mel ask Liam
