I quickly jump out of my bed and run across the chilled carpet. I don't even have time to turn the bathroom light on before tripping to the floor and crawling to the toilet to empty my system. My throat burns as I dry heave. One hand grasps the toilet while the other one wraps around my stomach.

Not much happens, since all I really had was water, but that's what made it a hundred times more painful. I cough and gag as my body is uncomfortable and forces it. As I cough, blood starts to come up. Tears start to pour down my cheeks as I scratch at my throat. I look from the floor to my closed bedroom door that's so far away.

"Mama!" I attempt to scream, but only comes out as a choked plea. I look around for anything to help but discover nothing.

I have no sense of time. How early it is or how long I've been on the floor. All I know is that besides my choking sounds and my sobs its silent. And that its dark, really really dark. I'm helpless, hunched over my toilet in a small ball on the floor

Suddenly I hear soft footsteps running and the sound of my door opening. I look up when the light of the bathroom flashes on. Paisley stands by the door, her hand on her mouth, in a silk robe, and a horror struck look on her face. She's always been a light sleeper.

"Oh my god" she whimpers. Her eyes frantically looks around the room as she stands stock still, completely in shock.

I start to gag again, causing her to flinch. Her eyes widen as her shock is broken. Immediately she starts to turn and run, yelling

"Adam! Adam!" She cries.

Another pair of footsteps are heard running, pounding this time. And soon my big brother slams his body into my bathroom

"Emily!" He shouts and runs to my side. He lifts me away from the bowl and pulls me to him as my body frantically shakes. He grabs a tissue and places it over my mouth, his hand holding it and my jaw.

He pleas me to stop, its obvious he is scared. Hell Paisley's sobbing by the door. My eyelids drop as I start to relax

"Paisley go get my mom" Adam says sternly. Yet Paisley doesn't move

"Now!" He yells and this time gets her to start moving out of the room once more.

"You're fine Care bear, you're fine. You're going to be fine" he whispers as he starts to rock me. He kisses my head over and over as we sit on the floor.

I look over to see blood everywhere, on the toilet, the floor and even the wall and I start to shake again, scared shitless. Adam wraps his arms around me tighter.

More footsteps are heard, and I see two figures running to me as I close my eyes and pass out.

When I wake up again I'm not in my room or the bathroom but the living room. I lift my head from the couch pillow to look at the time

8:30

I lift myself up a little till I'm sort of sitting up and look around. The curtains cover up the frosted windows as the Christmas tree glows. Light hits against the snow and gray clouds, giving the morning a very gentle color.

For a second I think I'm alone until someone places their hand gently on my shoulder. I slightly flinch, but relax when I see its just Adam.

"Hey, how're doing?" He asks me in a smooth and quiet voice.

"W-what happened?" My voice sounds scratchy as I talk. I lift my hand and rub my neck.

Adam hands me a glass of water I didn't see before. I thank him before taking a much needed sip
