"Your dad what?!" He asked, coming over to sit next to me.

"The hospital." I said again. "My dad is the hospital."

"No he's not, hes downstairs." Chad reassured me.

"Chad check the clock." I said.

"Oh shoot have I been asleep that long?" He questioned.

"My..dads in the hospital." I said for a third time, trying to understand what was happening.

"What?" He asked. "What happened?"

"I-I don't know." I said, staring coldly at the floor.

"Do you know what hospital?"

"Yeah." I said, telling him what the lady on the phone told me.

"And that's all she told me." I finished.

"Come on." He said, offering me his hand. "I'll take you."

I must have walked downstairs like a zombie because Chad kept having to move things out of my was so I wouldn't fall.

He grabbed my coat and put it around my shoulders. He lead me to his car and I stumbled in.

Before pulling out of the driveway he just looked at me like I had just grown 2 heads or something.

"Trinaty I'm sure it's nothing." He reassured. "He probably just cut himself and is getting stitches. Don't worry."

"Yeah i guess." I mumbled, but I just couldn't convince myself that that was it.

I stared at the clean black carpeting in the passengers seat of Chads car, trying to take my mind off of all the things that possibly could be wrong with the only family member in my life.

"Trinaty." Chad sang as he shook my shoulder.

I looked up at him. We had already arrived at the hospital and he was waiting in the door frame for me to get out. Funny, I don't really remember much of the drive

He grabbed my hand and I jumped out.

He put his arm around me and talked into my arm.

"It's ok Trinaty, everything is gonna be ok."

We walked up to the sliding hospital doors and proceeded to walk through the emergency room.

"Um. Chris Hosler." Chad told the lady in the check-in booth.

"Oh. Immediate family only please." She said, with a nasally voice

"I'm his daughter." I said, quietly.

"And you are?" She asked, gesturing towards Chad.

"Her boyfriend." He said.

"Ok I'll have you wait over there." She said, directing him towards the waiting room.

His grip around my shoulder loosened and he whispered into my ear

"I'll be here when you come out. Just stay calm."

I gave him a slight nod and turned to the woman.

"He's in the ER." She said.

My heart sank.

"Wh-where?" I squeaked.

"The ER." She said agin, this time a lot less pleasant.

Bitch.

I walked into the doors to my right with the big red letters that's said EMERGENCY ROOM.

I walked down the seemingly never ending hall of screaming mothers, and crying children until I reached a room labeled C. Hosler

I slowly turned the handle, bracing myself to what I might find. But absouloutly nothing could have prepared me for this.
