-Sparrow-

"Her father knows about you." Matthew smirked at me.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked him.

"Liz told him that you and Victoria have a relationship. And, that you two are working together."

I felt myself smile a little. "We don't have anything against each other, and we're working together to stop Scar and find Liz."

"Really? I remember seeing you in the window at that tavern. You and Victoria were enjoying your free time together."

"Wait. You saw that? Did anyone else see us?"

"No. Just me. Don't worry, but I never thought she had a good body." Matthew smirked.

"Shut it, Matthew! Nothing happened between us! I just helped her relax."

"Yeah right! Relax and listen! I'm not against you two, but just watch out! If people who want to hurt you found out, they will come after Victoria."

I nodded, understanding. But there was nothing going on between me and Victoria . . . right? I mean, I might think she's amazing, strong and independent but that's just all I see her . . . right?

"Come on, we need to find out everything about where's Scar's gone to!" I told Matthew

-Victoria-

"Thank you for his letter, uncle, but don't tell my father that you've seen me. I want to meet him soon---when I'm ready." My uncle nodded. "My father can't know that you've seen me, okay? Even if he asks. Alright? It's just that I'm not ready to meet them after all that has happened," I said in disbelief about myself. I was still afraid to face my parents, the very people that raised me.

"Don't worry about that. Just take care of yourself around Sparrow. Your aren't the only one who doesn't like him!"

I laughed, for Sparrow and I are nothing.

"Thank you for that, uncle," I said, as he was walking away from me. "Bye, Harold."

My uncle waved at me before jumping of the roof. I laughed at him. Looking around, I sat back down on the roof. Rummaging through my satchel, I grabbed the letter from my father again and reread it.

"Don't fall in love."

Did he mean Sparrow? I wondered.  I'm eighteen. I'm not ready for any commitment yet, even though my mother and father got married around my age.  I understand why my father doesn't like Sparrow, because he's a murder . . . but Sparrow is really sweet, manly, attractive, and---Wait! Did I just think that? Oh my gosh!

Maybe my father is right not to fall in love with him. I decided. But I'm not, am I?
