"Ok, it's time, Victoria."

I grabbed my blades, putting them against my thigh, then grabbed my lock-picks and put them into my satchel. "I'm ready!" I walked up to a painting behind a cover on the wall. It was a painting of me, my mother, and father.

"Edward will be proud of you," Arthur said behind me.

Edward was my father, but he never let me say his name. "My father wanted to find this man for years, but then my mother had me," I said, feeling guilty because my father couldn't finish the job. I sighed and stopped thinking about it.

"Ok, so a couple years ago, he came into the city with rats," Liz said walking into my room.

"Plagued rats! That's why everyone who's ill has the plague," Arthur said.

"Not everyone," Liz answered. "That Thomas Vêińe' is using plagued rats to kill pregnant women, young women, sick children, and elderly."

Hearing this made me feel sick.

"That means he's going to kill women like Victoria," I heard Arthur whisper to Liz.

"Well, this bastard isn't going to be around to kill anyone anymore," I said, walking out of the door.

The job was on.

-Sparrow-

"Sparrow, this Thomas Vêińe isn't normal . . . this sick bastard kills pregnant and young women, along with the elderly and children."

I looked up at her. Wait, Victoria is a young woman! She's eighteen!

"So, I guess Miss Night will die! That would be great for business!" Scar said.

My fist clenched. Victoria will not die, not while I'm around. Not while I'm alive. "Watch our words, Scar! Miss Night could kill you, and so would I! So, do watch what you're saying."

That shut her up.

Victoria wasn't like anyone around there. She had survived with the thieves for years and had become their leader.

"I'm sorry, Sparrow. I'm just saying, if the plagued rat got her in an ill state, it would finish the contract that started years ago."

I shook my head. I planned on never finishing that contract. "Scar, that contract ended years ago when we found out that she wasn't alone. She would've know of us coming. She isn't stupid! She has the skills and abilities of a thief. That's it!" I said, walking out of the room.

Walk down the corridor, I heard footsteps. I grabbed my blade and turned around, pointing it at Scar.

Her eyes widened at my actions. "You're trying to protect her, aren't you?" Scar knew this action wasn't normal. I never done this to her.

"You and the others will not touch her! I want her alive, and I don't give a shit how much you hate her!" I pulled my blade back and turned around, running out of the hideout.

I ran and jumped over buildings until I saw the port in front. Getting my weapon ready, I jumped down onto a window ledge and looked into the window where Thomas Vêińe was. He wasn't alone; he had mercenaries with him.

"What have you got there?" I whispered, looking at the boxes that were coming in. Thomas Vêińe opened the box.

It was the Diamond that Victoria was looking for.

Suddenly, I felt someone land next to me, causing me to look . . .

"Victoria!"
