Chapter 39: Smoke

I haven't heard from Liz in couple days now but she said she would send word to Victoria I just hope some good words at least about mine and Liz's talk. I don't know why I felt like this with Victoria but I hasn't felt like this before but it felt really good.

"Sparrow when Victoria returns..maybe we could help each other and stop Scar." Matthew said making me come out of my day dream, making me look at him. Scar was busy trying to find out where Victoria was but nobody mentioned anything because well they didn't know either.

"Matthew keep you're voice down, if anyone that trusts Scar hears they will tell." I told Matthew, he nodded understanding. I grabbed a glass with dark red wine and started drinking.

"So are you and Victoria making babies yet?" Matthew said smirking at me making me choke on my wine, I started coughing. I then placed my glass down onto the table near me.

"Matthew I'm going to rip you're throat out, if you even mention her name in that way or like that again. Understand?" I threatened him making his smirk on his face disappear and him going silent and nodding.

"I'm sorry if I crossed the line, I was only joking with ya Sparrow." Matthew said trying to joke.

I signed before talking "I'm sorry,it's just with this war going on and then Victoria. I guess it's just messing up my mind."  I looked at Matthew, he nodded.

"I've never seen in my time knowing you like this before." Matthew said making me laugh at his comment toward me.

"It's new for me too Matthew." I told him, this was all new to me and probably also Victoria. Before Matthew could say anything else we heard the door lock making us both run over to the door. I pushed the door hardly but it wouldn't move. I moved out of the way for Matthew and he started hitting the door with his shoulder.

"We've been locked in, what the fuck?" Matthew kept trying to break the door down. I looked around for a escape hole that we would have in most rooms incase of an emergency or an attack. But looks like there's not one in this room.

"Where's an escape hatch when you need it." I said out loud, Matthew kept trying to break the door down.

"Before....you came...here, Scar...had me find workers...that could build the escape hatches, but..no one has really ever used them." Matthew said trying to break the door down harder but it still wouldn't move so he decided to move away from the door.

"Scar didn't find this room important." Matthew said.

"This is where we have our maps and plans. Why wouldn't she like it?" I thought about it for a second and then realised it was Scar "Oh yeah she doesn't like anything that's not red." I said making Matthew nod. Then all of a sudden the air started to get worse, we both started coughing. It was smoke coming from under the door making my breathing get heavy and making us both cough harder. The smoke started to get heavier making Matthew and I cough harder, I looked at Matthew and saw him start to slowly breathe as he fell to the floor, I quickly grabbed his arm trying to keep him up.

"Come Matthew stay with me." I tried to pull him up, but then I felt my arms go weak and that made me drop him. Matthew fell onto the floor and he was out cold, I was trying to hard to keep my eyes open but my eyes started to close, I shook my head trying to stay awake but then all my body went weak making me fall on the floor near Matthew. My eyes were closing and this time I couldn't reopen them, my breathing started to slow down and I knew I was going to go to sleep. Then my breathing stopped and my eyes closed and then I went into darkness, but before my eyes closed I heard the door unlock and then that's when I fell into darkness.
