*Klaus' P.O.V*

"I'm sorry to ask this of you Elena but do you remember what is needed to complete the transformation of a hybrid?" I begged in complete desperation.

"Yeah, my blood wh- You didn't did you?"

"What? No, why would automatically assume this is my fault?"

"Well seeing as my blood it the only create a hybrid I think Kol is behind this... He can see right through people, by the looks of it she decided to fall for you and not him thus creating the psychotic.... impulse that your family so clearly has. No offence." she lectured forcing Anna to feed on her blood. My emotions began to run wild, wilder than normal I mean I normally have two emotions on the brain-hate and vengeance- but now I feel scared; terrified even, compassionate, anger, hate ,vengeance, regret, blind rage and remorse. But right now sheer anger and blind rage took over.

"Damon, where's that metal baseball bat you treasure so dearly?"

"You planning on beating the original hypocrite?"

"Of course." papers flew around the room and there stood Damon, bat in hand.

"Here, give him a whack from me."

"With pleasure. Promise me you'll look after her." I muttered to Elena before kissing Anna on the head and turning to leave.

"Niklaus?" a whimper came from behind. I turned to see Anna coming round and searching for me.

"Anna love, I'm here." She truly is terrified, with everything that she is going through plus being thrown in the deep end with Kol. I don't blame her, I'm not scared of Kol but for some reason he terrifies her to the very core.

"Where are we?" I cradled her more to ensure she feels safe with me.

"We're at a friends' house, its okay. Everything will be fine." I hushed. "Don't worry we're just going to get you a drink soon so you can relax." I gestured to Elena to go to the kitchen, turn on the taps and talk.

"So let me get this straight. Kol used your blood to make a random girl a hybrid after he made her trigger the curse?" Elena quizzed.

"That's close enough. But I really do need you to feed her some of your blood."

"Is there a way we can do it without freaking her out?"

"Give me your thumb, I apologise if this hurts but we need to." I pricked her thumb and squeezed a sizable amount from it into a cup from the drying board.

"Why do you want to save her so badly, this better not be for some sick revenge plot or for your hybrid army...?"

"No the opposite. I don't know what it is, but something about her intrigues me."

"You have a thing for her basically and immortalising her is what so you have a toy for the rest of your life?"

"Just leave it be Elena, please. It is bad enough with Elijah on my back about this, Damon and Stefan understand... they'd do the same for you." After spending a minute or so drifting off our main agenda, we plastered up Elena's thumb and took the partially filled cup to Anna. "Here drink this up, it's just like when your neck hurt it'll stop the pain." I whispered to her as she reluctantly forced the contents of the cup down and slowly fell asleep.

"Leave her there tonight, I don't mind plus when she wakes up I'll talk to her and introduce her to Jeremy, Matt, Bonnie and Caroline. But I'll try not to overwhelm her."

"I'm staying with her if that's okay, I promise I'll be of no bother." I pleaded desperately.

"Klaus, let's make a deal. You can stay here if you stop threatening my brother."

"Not much of deal but fine, as you wish."

"Goodnight Anna." She whispered. "Goodnight Klaus."

"Goodnight Elena." I half smiled to her before she crept up the stairs. I paused for a second holding the one thing that seems to be my humanity, the one thing I've come to love in a short period of time.

"Klaus?" Anna softly cried, seeming frightened.

"Shhh I'm here, don't fret. Sleep my sweetheart." I whispered against her temple as I felt the wrinkling of her forehead cease.

*Anna's P.O.V.*

Bright light blurred my vision as I laid there motionless, feeling crappy but oddly free. Once my eyes adjusted to the sun, and I was more conscious, I looked around my unfamiliar surroundings. Above my head was a breakfast bar with people sat at it deep in conversation, below my head (to the left) was the TV on the local news. I looked up, to my left, and Klaus slouched on the sofa with me on his knee, he must have slid there while I was sleeping.

"Niklaus? Where are we?" I whispered trying to wake him up gently.

"I'm not sleeping, I haven't been all night, love. Just needed to keep an eye on you" He mumbled as if he didn't want to let on to the other people in the house that we were awake.

"Why, what was so important that you needed to keep an eye on me?"

"Long story, Love. Now let's introduce you to some people." I pulled myself up off him and

He led us to the kitchen. "Elena, everyone this is Anna. Anna this is Elena-"

"Hi Anna, nice to meet you."

"Bonnie"

"Hey Anna."

"Matt."

"Hey."

"And Jeremy."

"We kinda already met.... First night, the forest? Remember Nik?"

"Ah right, yes. I had forgotten that detail."

"Anyway it's nice to meet you guys. Have we met before Bonnie, you look oddly familiar."

"I don't think we have but I do recognise your face, maybe we bumped into each other in town?"

"Yeah, that must be it. Sorry if I seem a little creepy, I don't intend to be."

"No problem, it's an honest mistake. How long you been here for? I heard you moved here recently." Bonnie quizzed.

"Not long about a week or so, from what I've seen Mystic Falls is beautiful. I'm glad Professor Shane recommended we think of here."

"What? Shane, as in Atticus Shane?" Elena intervened.

"Yeah..." Along silence filled the room. "What? Do you know something about him?"

"Words travels, I knew someone who used to work with him... My Grams."

"Sheila?" Bonnie nodded. "I loved her, everyone did she was like our second mother. But then she left, I wonder what she's doing now."

"She's um... She's dead."

"What? No. How?" I choked on my words, the woman who was like a mother to me for 4 years is dead?

"Erm..." Bonnie couldn't find the words to say.

"There was a fire at the Grill, I was stuck in the backroom, she managed to drag me out of the fire but it was too late she had ingested too much monoxide and passed away in her sleep from the poisoning." Matt piped up.

"Oh... well I guess she didn't die in vain..."

"Well Love, I think its best we leave these be and get you home." Klaus ushered me to the door.

"Okay, I'll see you guys around then. I guess."

"Bye Anna, it was nice meeting you."
