The Bombshell

Part 8: Regina's Pov

   Emma's idea was brilliant. It was a good plan and we needed to know if Zelena was telling the truth. This was the best way to do it; before we got back in to town and everyone found out. "You really think this is going to work?" I hoped so; I had faith in Emma and in her plan, but my sister is unpredictable at the best of times. Who knows what she'd try this time around.

   "Well, short of forcing her to pee on a stick in front of us, it's all we got. Although you can do that as well if you'd like; just to be sure." I was dying to laugh, but I couldn't; not in front of Zelena.

   "You ready?" I was letting Emma do the honours since I couldn't trust myself not to turn Zelena's heart into a pile of dust.

.

   "What are you going to do?" Robin asked as he came up behind me and grabbed a hold of my hand. I didn't want him to have to see this, but he needed to.

.

   "It's the only way. Trust us." He believed in me once and now I needed him to again.

.

   "Okay." Robin took a deep breath readying himself for what he was about to witness. "Do it!" I gave Emma the nod then turned to ensure that Roland wasn't awake to see this. Thankfully he wasn't, but Lily was eagerly watching from the passenger seat of Emma' bug.

   "Here goes." Emma reached deep into Zelena's chest and ripped out her heart. It was strong, but severely blackened by the hate and the darkness she carried with her.

.

   "Don't! Please don't do this?" It was good to hear my sister beg for her life, but luckily for her I wasn't the one holding her heart in my hands.

.

   "I'm not going to kill you Zelena. I just need you to do something for me." Emma was rather forceful and the seriousness in her voice made me realise that maybe she wasn't as far gone to the dark side as I originally thought.

   "Anything! Just don't hurt me!" This wasn't like Zelena; she would never give in so easily.
