The walk to school wasn't quite bad after all. Kimmy and I spent the entire walk indulged in each others conversation and she informed me on what to expect at school - you know, before hand. Everything here was so calm and chill, I hadn't even bothered to tell Kimmy why I left my old school - why freak my first friend here out? All she knew was, we were a normal single parent daughter household that moved here seeking a better way of living. Good cover Jess.

We arrived at school with plenty of time to spear. This was a first. Me. Early at school. Seriously?

"So this is school. Looks like any other-" She cut me off before I could finish my breath along with my sentence.

"Prison. Like any other prison." She said.

"You so get me." I said before I let a slight chuckle escape. So did she. Mikky... Mikky would've been rolling on the floor in tears right now gasping for air through her snorting laugh. I miss her. I wish she was here.

"Follow me." She said guiding me through the building. It was quite mediocre.

"I don't want no mediocre." I said as I was on my own buzz and began softly drifting off into song.

"Did you say something?" Kimmy said as she reacted to my mumbling.

"Um..nothing. I just wanted to know if we could go to the lockers. Preferably locker 126." I covered up.

"Sure, just turn right down here." She said taking hold of my wrist as I were to get lost or lose my way. I went along with it though.

"Hey look! It's your brother." I said pointing out at Luke at the end of the hallway leaning against a wall. The wall was just plain disgusting. The colour I mean. It was some weird green pukey colour. Ugh!

"I see him." She said staring him down as if he had done something wrong.

"Why didn't he walk with us to school?" I asked trying not to sound annoying.

"Him walk with me. Never. He skateboards to school. I'd expect him to have arrived with a broken arm or something by now, yet he still hasn't managed to."

"Oh." I said trying not to sound disappointed. I should've been happy though, I was staring to think he didn't join us because I left in the early hours without any notice. I couldn't help it, he was merely just an acquaintance to me.

"Here's your locker... I guess yo need a combination."

"Oh yeah, sure. My mum got one at the principal's office yesterday while she was out so I don't need to make a stop there." I said whilst taking my backpack off and placing it on my knee ready to search. "This'a be quick." I said as I practically tore my bag apart looking for my misplaced combination. Damn! All I wanted to do was put some books away so that my bag wouldn't make me look like Quazimoto.

After a minute of endless searching the bell rand and I still hadn't found that stupid combination. Just great! My first day and I'm early at school yet I still managed to make myself late somehow.

"Sorry Jess, I've got to get to Biology on time and it's all the way across school." She said with a 'sorry' expression.

"No prob." I smiled giving up on the combination search.

"You remember where your class is right?" She asked as if she were my mother.

"Room sixteen." I groaned not wanting to go to class and leave Kimmy. She was the one person I knew - aside from... let's rather not go there.

"Kay, from there the teachers will guide you. don't get into any trouble." She said already halfway down the hallway crowed with students. "Bye." She dragged.
