"CATCH IT MUM!!!!!" I yelled the couch - not even on top of the seat, on top of the back rest balancing my life away.
"Ew no! It won't hold still!" She screamed for the top of the kitchen counter banging at the floor with a broomstick trying hard not to topple to the ground.
"MUMMMM!!!!!!" I cried, no seriously the tears were preparing themselves. "Over there!" I paused."Get rid of it!... There!..... Stop missing!"
"I'm sorry, but I need to get to work." She yelled crawling to the other side of the counter.
"No mum! DON'T LEAVE!" But by the time the words had escaped my mouth, she was already hovering above the kitchen sink and climbing out the window infront of it.
"Enjoy school honey!" She yelled from outside the window. She smiled, but I knew she was just glad to be out of the house.
I awoke that morning to find my mum's voice filling the lower section of the house. Turns out she didn't close the back door all the way and when she went downstairs to get some coffee, she had a visitor.
Being myself of course, I ran for the highest thing in reach - being the couch obviously.
"LUKE!!!!!" I yelled. The one morning he doesn't seem to be popping in. "LUKE!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!"
I don't even know how I expected him to hear me from here. Chances are he might have even left for school - okay wait no I'm funny. He seems to think skateboarding to school five minutes before the late bell - yes late bell - is okay. NOT EVEN THE FIRST BELL!
None the less my loser in tin foil showed not a second later, banging on our front door.
"Open up." He called. "Jess open the damn door. What's wrong?" Until the racket stopped.
He found his way to the front window and started his banging once again to catch my attention.
At first I was scared to take my eyes off the 'ugh' thing, but soon after shouted at him to get through the kitchen window. The same one that my mum betrayed and left me to die for. Fuck you window. Fuck you.
"What's all the commotion about?" He said ducking after he knocked his head climbing into the house onto the counter and finally putting his feet down onto the tiled floor.
"Put your feet back up! Put your feet back up!" I yelled quickly.
Huh?!?!" He said jerking his legs up and hugging his knees, looking down like he'd seen a monster. "What? Where? Why?"
"There!" I said pointing at the intruder. It's beady little eyes piercing my soul and eating my it's way through my thoughts.
"That little fella?" He said slowly climbing off the counter and picking up the little mouse on the kitchen floor.
"PUT IT DOWN! WE'RE GONNA DIE AND THEN BE KILLED!"
"Just a thought Jessica, but I think it's physically impossible to die and then be killed."
"Just put it down okay." I cringed. It was worming it's way out of Luke's hand. Probably ready to leap at me and chew my face off.
"But look at him, he's so-" The mouse just made one sudden movement causing Luke to let out a ear piercing scream. "AAAAH! IT BIT ME! THE DAMN LITTLE SHIT BIT ME!"
"AAAAH! YOU'RE INFECTED! DROP IT! DROP IT! IT'S GONNA GO FOR YOUR FACE!"
"WAIT??!!?!?! WHAT?!??!?!" He said as he quickly let go of it held onto his sleeve and was soon out of sight. "IT'S IN ME! I FEEL THE LITTLE CLAWS DIGGING INTO MY FLESH!" THE PAWS ALL OVER ME!" He said jumping around and yanking at his clothing. It looked like he was doing a funny version of the Irish jig.
