Song for chapter:
Oh Wonder - All We Do

MY phone alarm goes off. I reach over on the bedside table, looking at my ringing phone and the alarm named 'Time to go to hell :)' so I immediately press snooze. A few extra minutes won't kill me. As I begin to sink into a deep slumber, I hear my door creak open. I open up my eyes to my mom standing over me beside my bed.
"No more snoozing. Get your butt up," she says.

The whole day has gone by quickly thanks to the teachers actually talking about other things then school handbooks and information sheets. Don't get me wrong, It was still boring but slightly better than yesterday.
At lunch, I walk pass Emily and her other friend whom I'm surprised to see her sitting with. I expected the whole table to be filled with nerds with glasses and discussing their next Dungeons and Dragons session. Instead, there's only one girl sitting beside Emily, and instead of the girl having mousey hair and glasses, she has medium cut red hair, with a tight shirt to show off her larger chest and a face load of makeup.
Emily smiles at me as I walk by. I give her a brief wave then continue walking until I reach the outside patio. I pick a place to sit down on the grass, placing my food in front of me which is a turkey sandwich with potato chips, and I pull out my book and enjoy the fresh air.
Sixth hour came by and I sat in my proclaimed seat in the back. Emily smiled at me and took her seat, not really engaging in conversation based on my reaction yesterday.
Mr. Blake took up our questionnaire papers and for the rest of the hour, we sat listening to him brag about his fiance instead of teaching English. Mr. Blake is maybe in his late twenties, and so far I've seen a couple girls swoon over him for his looks. He has cole, black hair and brown eyes, tall and dresses in preppy clothes probably to show off that he has money. He's not ugly, but he ain't all that either.
Seventh hour comes along and I'm ready for my spare time. I get a Pepsi can from the vending machine and head up stairs to my relaxation place. I take a sip of the bubbling soda and make a right.
Mid-way down the hall, I see a boy standing on top of the railing to block from falling to the cement a floor down. I stop in my tracks, knowing that if he falls, he will either die or suffer some very painful injuries. I drop my Pepsi down on the ground, the soda splashing on the floor and all over the bottom of my jeans pants.
I walk towards him in a hurry. "Hey!" I shout. The boy immediately turns around startled. He takes his foot off the railing and then balances himself back on the ground. His dark hair blows in his face from the wind and his look of concern in his eyes has me baffled because of what he was about to do.
"Whoa, you okay?" he asks, coming towards me as I stopped a few feet away from him.
My heart is beating fast in my chest, ready to come out its rib cage. Memories come flooding back inside my brain, taking me back to a place that I left in Minnesota. The pain and terror rise in my chest.
"I thought you were going to jump!" I tell him, still trying to suppress the emotions that are emerging.
His brown eyes widen. "What? No, I was just standing up there. It's one of my favorite things to do. Being on top of the world and all, ya know?" he tries to laugh, but it doesn't make me smile or laugh. In fact, it makes me pissed off.
