Write about Change
As the air gets colder it become evident that change is coming. Just as other nature sheds her skin, so do people. Except us shedding our skin means we shed people, bad habits, and our pasts. Like the rings of trees they're ingrained on our insides. We wear them close to us even if we don't hold them close to us. Our bark becomes more coarse to protect us from outside influence. Things and people that would harm us have to pick and pick to get inside. Occasionally you'll get that person with a chainsaw that will cut you down just for you to regrow a little stronger, your bark a little thicker, and your leaves a little higher. Although unlike trees, we don't shed once a year. We shed every day. We make some sort of progress one way or another and continue to grow upwards. Change happens every day in many different ways. Personal change is the hardest to identify.
