When he kissed her she felt it. The power rose within her like a cold blizzard. A gentle breeze and light rain washed over her. Her hair long red hair floated behind her gently. He was summer, he was warm and safe. He was everything she had ever hoped he'd be. The wings at her back beat happily like a bird in a bath, and then they broke apart. She stared into his deep, brown eyes. His hands were still at her waist, and her arms still hung around his neck.

"You kissed me". She was shocked by her own voice, and the surprise that betrayed her there.

"I did," he smirked at her, amused by her, yet still intrigued at how she could not know how captivating she truly is. Naida unwrapped her arms from his neck and pulled from his grasp.

"You know I'm to marry into the winter court. We desperately need their alliance, Alec." Her voice was stern, but her body betrayed her slumping slightly and fighting the urge to reach out.

"I'm aware of your situation," he tried to hide his playfulness, he tried to remain serious at what he was about to say next, "I think you may be better benefitted by an alliance with summer". He let his grin broaden and kissed her hand to let her know his exact intent. She blushed, the full color of a rose upon her cheeks. She looked away, unsure of how to proceed. He gently grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him. Her pale blue eyes glimmering like the ocean under sunlight.

"You know we need the permission of the King and Queen in all three courts for that". She was skeptical and cautious, and he adored her for just that. Nothing was ever half done by her. He gazed upon his childhood friend. He had watched her grow into the gorgeous princess of the spring fay. She was mischievous, flirtatious, and intelligent, but still held her reservations and was careful of not crossing lines. He knew he was pushing her. Their attraction has been long held and understood.

Everyone knew well that the alliance between the spring and winter court was an attempt to keep winter from consuming them. They've slowly been making winter last longer and longer. Cutting spring to only a month and cutting well into autumn considerably as well. The only court that winter could not touch was summer.

Here in laid Alec's intentions to get his childhood sweetheart. An alliance between both spring and summer fay, would benefit much better. It also allowed his heart to finally stop longing for the princess he desperately has wanted since young age. His mind swam with thoughts of her.

Naida felt reckless in this moment. She wanted nothing more than to give Alec everything in this moment. She has waited for it for so long, but she knew the cost this would bring to her court. They had to be careful.

"Alec, stolen kisses are nothing in the grand scheme of fay politics. You know I cannot agree to anything until I'm let out of my marriage".

"Then, Princess, we shall convince them to let you out of the trap". Alec leaned in again, pulling Naida close again. He wrapped her soft lips in a kiss letting the full intent of his words pour into her mouth and down to her heart. He broke the kiss only to whisper, and look into her eyes.

"We'll be the first of the fay to marry for love you know."

"And who said I was in love with you"? The glint in her eyes and blush on her cheeks betrayed her yet again.

"Stop talking with words," Alec commanded of her gently. Their lips locked again, hands carefully rose to hair and faces. They were memorizing each other, in case this ended badly.

They hoped it wouldn't.
