The unpredictable Future

She sat on her bed looking for answers she may never receive. The pink box lay next to her unopened. She couldn't believe she was going to do this. It has been so long since she used her cards for anything related to her. It's been so long since she's felt she needed guidance or reassurance from them. Her hands shook. She could feel the tingling of the future about to be revealed.

She took her gold edged cards from their box asking the divine for guidance. She needed to know if she should let the love of her life go, or hold on to ever fraying hope. She shuffled the cards with her eyes closed, focusing on her intent. She fanned the cards out in front of her, and pulled the first one and placed it in its spot, the past.

The green spirit whisperer stared back at her as a challenge. Telling her that red flags have been waved, and that she needs to pay attention to detail, or she'll be cleaning up a mess she didn't know she made. The spirit also warns her that she may be attempting to relearn a lesson she needn't bother with. The whisperer also tells her that she must trust her intuition, it cannot steer her wrong.

She pulls the second card from her deck. The present. The Lady of Lightning floats boldly above the water light flowing through her in every direction. She's an ally, here to remind her of positive things. Her main reminder being that changes are happening all around her. Lady Lightening reminds her to not resist change, that she may be well on her way to new heights.

The future, the third card she pulls, is the one she's really anxious about. This is the card that will tell her if their love is secure. The Chess Queen is challenging the future. Her intelligent and unmoving stance on her chess piece shows strength and determination. Her warning tells of living too much in the head, strategizing, and planning what the future holds. The Queen says to let go of expectation and want, and to trust that she will receive all.

The girl relaxes in her seat on the bed; she takes a deep breath and pushes it out slowly. She packs the cards back up into their box, and carefully places them in her hiding place. She knew she was revisiting old habits, and she knew she was too stuck on being given a solid answer. She speaks so much of trust, and now it was time she acted with it. She would let go, in trust that these past years were not a lie. That everything spoken has been the truth. Things were going to work out. They had to. Although even if they didn't work out the way she wanted them to, the cards say everything is as it should be.
