Same Day
Mostly everyone left the party. It's 9 at night now. Jayla is having a sleepover with some of her friends. They're in the dance studio blasting music, dancing ofcourse. They're her friends from Karate and Gymnastics. My kids are homeschooled. So while I'm at the bakery, they're in my office on their computers doing their work. Im the one who decided to homeschool them because they're in so many extra curricular activities. So after they finish their school day then Jayla goes to Gymnastics for 3 hours then Karate for 2. So she's home by 5 or 6 o'clock. Then Heaven has choir practice, which could last 4 hours at a time. Nevaeh has dance practice which sometimes last 5 to 6 hours. Aleah doesn't really do much except go to Gymnastics and help me at my bakery. Jaden plays basket ball and he's still deep in the streets. The only reason nobody suspects anything is because I own a well known bakery. My ankles hurt. I bend down and pick up Rileys toy. I walk upstairs to the second floor. I walk to Aleahs bedroom and open the door. "May, did you take a bath?" I ask her. "Yes Aunty" she says. "Je'Ree did you?" I ask her. She Nods her head yes. I gave Aleah a bath so I don't have to ask her. May and Je'Ree insisted that they bathe themselves. "Okay, don't stay up to late, you guys have gymnastics in the morning" I say. On Sundays they have early practices. I close their door and walk to the dance studio. I open the door and Taylor is in the middle of an press handstand. "You guys have been up here for hours, aren't you hungry?" I ask them. They nod their heads yes. "Miss Jamie can you do a front tuck?" Hayley ask. "I don't know what that is and if a did, no" I say. They laugh. "Ill be back with some snacks" I say. I clothes the door and walk to Heaven and Nevaehs room. As much as they fight they hate sleeping in separate rooms. I open the door and look in. Nevaeh is on her bed with her beats on and her eyes closed listening to music. I look at Heaven. I want to believe that she's drawing on her hand, but that looks more like a knife than a marker. I walk into the room and over to her. I grab the knife away from her. "Heaven what is wrong with you" I mumble. She carved the word love into her arm. "Mom, what's wrong?" Nevaeh ask. "Nothing, I just need to talk to your sister for a while" I mumble while picking Heaven up. "Why would you do this" I mumble while walking into our bedroom. "So I could bleed out and die" she mumbles. "Whats wrong" Jaden ask. "Heaven was cutting herself" I mumble while wrapping her arm with a bandage. "Why the hell would you do that" Jaden says while walking over to us. "So I could bleed out and die. Nobody loves me except Jayla and Aleah" she mumbles. "You know your mom and I love you" Jaden says. "So why did you hit me" she mumbles. "Cause you told Ne' to leave your mom in the bathroom to die" Jaden says. "Cause I hate her" she screams. I stand up and walk downstairs. I'm going to make the snacks for the girls like I said I would.
"Jamie you know she doesnt mean that" Jaden mumbles while I cut the sandwhiches into little bite sized pieces. "I always wanted to be a mother" I say. "What?" He mumbles. "I wanted to be just like my mom when I grew up. Happy, I wonder how it feels" I say while putting the sandwhiches on a huge plate. "Aren't you happy" Jaden mumbles. "Ofcourse I'm happy, just sometimes the things my daughter says to me makes me think, am I really a horrible mother?" I say then walk upstairs. I walk into the studio and put the tray on the small table in the corner of the room. I put the drinks next to them. "You guys know the rule" I say. "No juice after 8:30" they all say. Jayla pulls me to the side. "Mom why is there blood on your shirt" she ask. "Heaven was cutting herself" I mumble. "Is she okay?". "Yeah, shes okay" I mumble. "Are you okay?" Jayla ask. "Yup, I'm perfectly fine" I mumble. Jayla always knows when I'm lying. "We'll talk later" I mumble. she nods her head. I walk out the room and back upstairs into my room. I lie down on the bed and close my eyes. "I'm sorry" I hear Heaven say. I open my eyes. "Why? You're right. I'm a horrible mother" I say. "No your not, don't talk down on yourself" she mumbles. "But you said it yourself" I say. "Cause I was upset" she mumbles while sitting next to me. "sometimes I feel that you don't love me" Heaven says. "You're a wise girl, so why would you think I don't love you" I mumble. "Cause if Nevaeh does something you talk to her, if I do something I get yelled at or spanked" she says. "Cause Heaven the things that you do say and do are unnecessary. Do you know what you said to me earlier hurt me so badly" I say. "Cause I wanted you to feel how I felt" she mumbles. I sigh and pull her closer to me. She lays her head on my chest and I play with her curls. "I love you and all your sisters equally" I say. "I love you too" she says. I kiss her forhead. "Come on, it's time for bed. Are you coming to the bakery with me tomorrow?" I ask her while we walk to her room. "Is Leah going to be there?" She ask. "No, she has gymnastics" I say. "Jayla" "also has gymnastics" I mumble. "Ne'?" She ask. "She has dance practice at 12 so she won't be there for long" I say. "Okay, I'll come" she says while getting into her bed. "No more cutting, understand" I mumble. "Understand" she says. We do our handshake and I kiss her head, "I love you" I say. "Love you too Mom" she mumbles. I look at Nevaeh, shes putting her phone on the charger. I walk over to her. "Watch your sister tonight, If she gets up call me" I say only for her to hear while we do our handshake. "Got it" she says. "Love you" I mumble then kiss her head. "Love you too Mom" she says. I walk to the door and turn off the lights then close their door. I walk up the stairs and to the studio. I open the door but no one is in there. I walk to Jaylas room and open her door. I laugh. All 10 girls are on Jayla's king sized bed. I turn off the light. "Love you mom" Jayla sleepily says. "Love you too baby, Happy birthday" I say then close her door. I walk back downstairs. I walk to Aleahs room and open the door. "When is he going to be born?" Aleah ask Jaden. May and Je'Ree are already sleeping and Aleah is fighting sleep. "In a couple months" Jaden says. Aleah whispers something to Jaden. "When should I do it" Jaden ask. Aleah whispers again in his ear. "That's a good idea" he mumbles. "Hi mommy" Aleah says. I walk further into the room. "Come on, bedtime" I say. "Finally, Daddy talks a lot" she mumbles. I laugh and Jaden's jaw drops then he chuckles. "Goodnight Nugget, love you" Jaden says then kisses her cheek. "Love you too Daddy." She yawns. "Good night Baby, love you"I say. "Love you too mommy" she says while closing her eyes. We get up and turn off the lights. End of a very successful birthday
