Chapter 1

I woke up abruptly from my peaceful nap, sleeping was one of my most desired hobbies. I of all people could sleep forever; this just wasn’t the case today. It was 4 in the afternoon and Jade and Bella were “playing “again. When I say playing I mean Bella attacking Jade till he cries in pain and she jumping on him for fun. I got up from my bed and lazily reached for my glasses, walking out to the living room where the ruckus was coming from. Once I enter the living room I yell infuriated at what I see.

“BELLA AND JADE what are you two doing!” I screamed as loud as I could not caring that anybody will hear me since I was the only one home. Bella had destroyed all of my textbooks, paper was everywhere, jade was underneath the sofa scratching with his claws like if he was doing the underground challenge, and just when I’m about to scream for Bella, I see her in Jades litter box!

Could my pets be any more abnormal?  I give them a long and painful lecture on how what they did was wrong, and punished them both. I clean up the mess they both have made and just as I finish my mom walks through the door.

“Hi honey “she said in her cherry voice

“Hey ma, “she sensed the tiredness in my voice, and was quick to ask what was wrong.

“What did my two babies do this time?” she said with a hint of laughter.

I turned to her and told her what they did and all she could do was laugh, which was typical.

“Ma, Bella and Jade are driving me crazy! Bella isn’t even a year old and she’s already known as “The Bully in town”.

“You wanted a puppy this bad my dear, pay the consequences” she said in her motherly tone I detested.

Yes, I wanted a puppy, not a Tasmanian devil which was what she was.

“So are you excited for starting school tomorrow?” she asked seriously thinking I was going to be jumping up and down of pure joy.

“But of course mommy! I just love switching schools every year in high school, Ohh the joy of being the new kid again” I said while smiling from ear to ear, with pure sarcasm In my voice.

“Cut the act Daisy, I know you didn’t want to move schools but we had no choice, and you know that very well. Please don’t make this anymore harder than it is for me already.”

“Oh, but I did want to switch schools, just not to one that I found worse than South Monroe High.” I mumbled with annoyance.

“You will learn to love your new school, trust me sweetheart” her smile and optimistic tone made me want to slit my throat ever so slowly.

 I helped her with dinner and set the table, it was Sunday so that meant we were having pasta with cheesy bread, yum my all-time favorite. We waited for my dad who came shortly after everything was set. We made small talk and I cleaned up and did the dishes.

It was already 7:30 so I decided to watch a movie and figure out what I was going to wear tomorrow. I went up to my room and put on 13 going on 30. I had seen the movie about a dozen times, but it was one of my favorites so who cares right? I turn around to see both of my pets laying peacefully on my bed one next to the other; Jade on my pillow and Bella in the middle with her little legs up in the air. I laughed at the site, and walked over to my closet. I wasn’t sure if should go causal or bummy. Just as I was about to decide my phone rang, it was Lexi my best friend, I picked up the phone and immediately heard her sweet cheery voice.

“Hii Daisy!” she said pure excitement

“Hey, Hun, I said, glad she called.

“Watcha up too cutie?”

“Trying to figure out what to wear tomorrow, should I go casual, or like I just rolled out of bed?”

She laughed hysterically, “Definitely don’t want people thinking you look like the wicked witch of the east baby girl, go casual but cute, straighten your hair and do your make up, you never know you may run into a very cute guy tomorrow don’t want him running in the opposite direction due to your outfit that screams “I’m sleep walking”. She laughed and I couldn’t help but laugh too.

Lexii, you know I don’t dress to impress, especially guys, I’m done with them they’re all immature and horny idiots.

“I know, but you can’t be a lonely cat lady forever, you’re are hot, smart, and down to earth, what guy wouldn’t want to get to know you and even more, huh?

“I guess, thanks Lexii, ill text you tomorrow and let you know how everything went”

“Okiedokee, pip pip cheerio!” she said in her so not British accent.

Lexii, you are not British! You are Irish! Stop with the pip pip cheerio thing! I laughed and so did she.

“Yea, yea, I know, goodnight Daisy”

“Goodnight Lex”

I had chosen dark wash skinny jeans and a coral lose top with a black cardigan. I guess looking decent on the first day of school wasn’t a bad thing. I lay everything on my chair and crawled in to bed to watch my movie. It was on the part where Jennifer Gardner was getting all dolled up to go to the party. I finished the movie, and turned out the lights.

The moon was visible through my window, it was a crescent moon and it was absolutely beautiful. The stars were scattered all around the night sky and you could hear the soft rustling of the tree leaves. Hopefully tomorrow isn’t as bad as I picture it out to be. I closed my eyes, slowly drifting into my sleep. Only to hear that Bella was snoring. Great, I mumbled, just great..
