Someday

Chapter 9

“Honey, you are going to be late for school, you have to get up” my mom said way too cheery as always. I don’t know how she wakes up in such a great mood, I mean it’s Monday for crying out loud, everybody should be grumpy, at least that was my philosophy.

“I don’t want to gooooo” I groaned pulling the covers over my head, and clutching my pillow for my dear life.

“Come on sweetie, you have to go to school” she was basically pleading me and guilt started settling in.

 I didn’t end up getting much sleep yesterday, after the party I asked Penelope to take me home. I still couldn’t believe Joey would be the one to do drugs. I hated them, I couldn’t stand the smell of it, the way people acted when they came near them, or the way people instantly changed when they became addicted. So, to say I was shocked that he was yet another typical cliché was an understatement.

“Do I have to go mom” I said with a hint of sadness in my voice

“Yess,” she said sternly.

“But I don’t feel well, I think I caught something from Bella, or Jade” I said smiling into the pillow so she wouldn’t see my face expression.

“Is that so, well okay you can stay home just for today, but tomorrow you march your butt to school” she said sternly before leaving the room.

“Thanks mommy I love you” I said loud enough for her to hear me, I was relieved I didn’t have to go to school today, I hated being there, I couldn’t stand seeing Jordan, and running into Joey constantly was starting to get on my last nerve. I thought, hey now I can finally have a decent breakfast. I got out of bed, made my way to the bathroom and did my daily routine. Once I finished I made my way downstairs. My mom and sister had left already and my dad had been at a meeting once again, so I was alone.

I started to make French toast and bacon, the smell of everything was making my stomach churn and my mouth water; everything looked delicious, to bad I had to eat by myself, one thing I hated was eating alone.

“Hey babies, you hungry?” I said to Bella and Jade, they both looked at me annoyed that I had interrupted their slumber. I opened a can of Friskies for jade and a can of Purina dog food for Bella. Just as I took off the lid, they both came waltzing into the kitchen, digging into their food happily. That was much better, now I didn’t have to eat alone I thought.

After I ate breakfast I decided going to the beach would be nice, I could clear my head and listen to the sound of the waves. I grabbed my stuff and grabbed Bella’s leash and collar.

“Let’s go buttercup, we are going to run at the beach” I told her, already hearing her excitement as she made her way to the door and started whining.

“I know you love the beach” I said as I opened the door and put her in the passenger seat, buckling up her seatbelt. The ride to the beach was short and with the top down, Bella was able to sick her head out and stick her tongue out.  We got to the beach and started jogging right away, we ran 3 miles and Bella still wasn’t exhausted. The beach was empty and I thought just perfect. I took off my top and shorts, standing in just my bathing suit. I started to play with Bella, running in the water and chasing her around.  I lay down on the sand watching the waves and the beautiful sun, I had been dying to get a tan, so I sprayed some tanning oil and splat myself onto my towel.  But then, I hear Bella barking and I see her running towards someone.

“Bella get back here!” I yelled out to her as I see her sniffing another dog’s butt.

“Bella! Stop that you are a lady!” I yelled as I started running after her, once I got close enough to see her I saw the other dog biting her tail and Bella sitting down sticking her but out. I was appalled as to what I was seeing.
