Write an essay describing your thoughts on a worldwide issue at the moment, make sure to include sources and cite them.   That’s not so bad, I thought. I was at home working on my homework, I had many tests this week and as a senior I had a lot on my shoulders. I decided to get all of my homework out of the way, so then I could go jogging, and possibly go to the gym. I started writing my essay, forming ideas In my head and writing ferociously, writing was one of my best assets, I loved to write since it came naturally to me, I didn’t have to think so hard when I was asked to write on a topic, any topic at that. As I’m writing though, I hear mumbling and soft whimpers. “Noo! “Let go of me!” I want to leave”! I got up immediately and went over to my sister’s room, where the screaming was coming from.

“Its okay, it’s okay honey, it was just a nightmare” I told Victoria as I got into her room, noticing that she was sweating and was crying.

“I had a bad dream sis, it was about those guys that took me away the other day” she said crying on my shoulder as I held her in my arms.

“It’s okay beautiful, nobody is going to take you away from me ever again, okay?” I was trying to calm her down, as best as I could, but with the lump in my throat it was even difficult for me to do so. I had never asked Victoria what had happened that day, that she was missing and I needed to find out.

“Vic, what happened that day, did those guys do anything to you?” I asked concerned as I looked at her little eyes glistening with tears.

“No, they just tied up my hands and feet and they wouldn’t let me leave” she said her voice low.

“Do you remember what those guys looked like? How many were there?” I asked gently, I didn’t want to overwhelm her with questions; I just really wanted to understand everything that happened.

“They were two guys, and they had dark hair were tall” her gaze was averted towards the window; her mind was going back to that day.

“Once Joey came, they all started talking, and they told him that he had to pay some money for me to get out” she turned her face to me and started rubbing her eyes.

“How much money did they ask for?” I was stunned that Joey hadn’t mentioned any of this to me, but even angrier that Rick and the other guy would ask for money I return of my sister.

“I don’t remember sis, they just started mumbling , then Joey left and he came back with an envelope and gave it to the guys” I stopped questioning Victoria, she was still scared so I just rocked her to sleep, and gently tucked her into bed. I left the room, questions running through my mind, endless questions that I didn’t have answers to. I was going to speak to Joey tomorrow and get to the bottom of this.

The next day I stopped by Joey’s house, it was after school so I figured he would be home. I parked in front of his driveway, and saw that he was repairing his car, once he saw me he quickly closed the hood, and waited for me to get out.

“Hey” he said as he made his way towards me.

“Hey, didn’t mean to interrupt” I said as I shifted my gaze towards his car.

“It’s alright, I was just checking the transmission, and making sure I didn’t need an oil change, but what’s up, what brings you here?” he wasn’t smiling and to be honest it was a little odd.

“I needed to speak to you, about what happened the day you rescued my sister” I was leaning on my car, making sure there was enough distance between us.

“What do you want to know?” he mimicked my posture, and had his arms crossed over his chest.

“How much money did you have to pay to bail my sister out?” I kept my voice even, I didn’t come here to argue with him again, I just wanted to get answers.
