He fixed his lips onto mine ever so tender, the way someone touches a flower not wanting to hurt it in any way. He deliberately caressed my face as he deepened the kiss, which was the moment I was able to let go of everything that was holding me back from him. The kiss held every emotion in our bodies, the way he felt towards me and how I felt towards him, how much love he had towards me was spoken through that one moment of exhilaration. I wrapped my arms tighter around him closing any gap there was between us, his soft lips against mine were like velvet to the touch. His scent of his cologne was overpowering, making the moment more intimate. I’d like to say I felt butterflies; I’d like to say the moment had me on cloud nine, but then I would be lying. Because, after experiencing just one kiss with Joey, he had me feeling like a shooting star. I started to drop my hands and move them delicately onto his shoulders while gently tugging on his bottom lip, a smile evident on my face as I pulled away leaving Joey gasping for air. We had to remember we were still at the beach, and I for one am not going to go all out PDA. Although there weren’t any toddlers around or that many people near us, I still wanted to show that I had respect for myself and am not an easy one.
“I’ve been waiting months for just one kiss with you Daisy, and today I got it; couldn’t be any more happier” his smile spoke for the both of us, he was someone that made me happy when the last thing I wanted to do was smile.
“It was a thank you kiss, a thank you for always being there when I’ve needed someone the most.” He raised my chin towards him so we were at eye level, then he calmly whispered so only my ears can hear, he looked me in the eyes with the most passion I’ve seen and sweetly gave me a kiss on the forehead. “You don’t have to thank me for anything; I’m the one who should be thanking you.” I got up and swiftly started to run out of his sight, I looked back at Joey to see a confused expression on his face, “Where are you going Daisy”, “I’m running away, and if you want to be with me you’re going to have to work for it” I said with a mischievous grin, and started to laugh as I ran without a care in the world. Looking back only seconds later, I see Joey on his feet running as if to catch a prize, my laughter filled the beach and I couldn’t help get scared that he might catch up to me. He chased me down the beach for what seemed like 5 minutes, my feet touching the sand and the water creeping up slowly to my legs, just as I was about to turn and stick my tongue out at him, he caught me and held me like a princess. Running with me in his arms, he got in the water, and started to spin me around both of us caught in enjoyment and my smile brighter than any sun in the sky.
“I will chase you wherever you go, and will prove to you how much I care for you”
“Is that a threat or a promise” I asked jokingly
“A promise, many of the promises I intend to keep” he smiled at me just as we fell to the water.
We stayed at the beach for several more hours, it was already dark by then and I was feeling dizzy off the way Joey was making me feel. I couldn’t help but find myself staring at him every now and then, his green eyes looked different today, and I couldn’t help but think I had something to do with it. Even though I came to the beach today so I could get away from everyone and have my time to think, I’m glad Joey came along, because with him it seemed that all my worries were washed away by the sea, making me feel like a true mermaid.
