The week went by rather quickly. Korra has gotten better, being able to walk one step at a time, and being able to bend. Mako stayed by Korra's side every time she went out to Republic City, or just to walk around the island. Mako was trying to find the best time to tell the girl he loved about what he had done when he disappeared. He was going to tell Korra the day after she woken up, but he knew it wasn't the best time. He would look for an opportunity and explain his mistakes to Korra, but he was afraid of her reaction. Mako was upset, you can see it in his face expression, guilt was shown.
"Mako.... Is there something you have to tell me? You look kinda nervous about something."
Mako's face began getting red. She was onto him. He didn't want to upset Korra, but it had to come out eventually. Mako let out a sigh, he knows what the outcome is, but was willing to risk it so there was no lies between them.
"Korra..... Let's sit down.." Mako said as he helped Korra sit down on the sand." Look... I'm really sorry.. I didn't mean to do it.... I'm just a stupid jerk! Korra I'm really-"
"Just spit it out Mako!"
Mako let out a gulp and was ready to say it.
"I kissed Yuna..."
Everything was quiet now. Korra had a blank expression on her face. She was shocked, stunned, and worst of all disappointed. She shook her head. She was furious. Korra lifted her hand and made contact to Mako's cheek. He fell on the ground with a blood red mark on his cheek. The impact of Korra's hit made Mako's cheek completely red. He held his hand on his cheek calming down the pain.
"Korra I'm sorry!"
Korra didn't listen. She struggled to get up and made her way back inside. She was angered. Why would the boy she loved do such a thing? Behind her back!
Korra felt Mako's warm hand on her wrist. She tugged back, but he didn't let go. He was using all his force to get Korra to calm down. He was dissatisfied with himself.
"Mako let go!" Korra yelled at Mako.
"Please Korra I didn't mean it! I'm so sorry! Please forgive me!"
Korra didn't listen. Korra was so angered with Mako, her palms began glowing with flames, and she punched Mako on his shoulder. Mako let go off her wrist and he fell back to the ground. He was screaming out in pain. His shoulder was burnt badly, covered in dark red. Mako pushed his hand with force across his shoulder, minimizing the pain. He screamed and trashed about. He couldn't stand the pain, it was like someone stabbing you repeatedly.
Korra looked at what she had done. She kneeled down to Mako.
"Mako, I'm so sorry! Here let me look at it for you."
"NO! GET AWAY FROM ME KORRA!" Mako screamed at Korra.
Korra stepped back. She's never heard Mako yell at someone before, not even herself. She walked back, ashamed, this was all her fault. She should've stayed calm, and her what Mako had to say.
Mako began taking off his clothing. It was painful with just one arm. He took off his shirt and his pants. He only wore his underclothing. He walked slowly to the water, and relaxed. He was floating in the water, letting the pain from his shoulder relax in the cool bay. He closed his eyes and sighed. If anyone had to be blamed it was him.
Korra walked up the hill and walked to the girl's side of the island. She barged into Yuna's room without knocking before. Yuna was shocked and frightened. Korra's breathing was heavy and deep. Yuna saw the anger and frustration in Korra's eyes.
"Korra.... I didn't mean to do it.... It's all my fault... I came onto him... I began giving him signs of me liking him and I went for the kiss, I'm sorry... I told him things that were on my mind about him, and you not being there gave me an advantage. But it was a mistake and I should've kept it to myself. I'm a terrible person I'm so sorry!" Yuna said. Not everything she said was true, like she went for the kiss, it was Mako. She said it in hopes of Korra forgiving Mako.
Korra was angered, she wanted to find the truth and she got it. Korra walked out and slammed the door. She walked back to her room and went to bed. She hated everyone in her life. Everyone was filled with lies and she didn't want to be apart of it. Korra began tearing on her pillow an she soon fell asleep.
"Hey Mako!" A voice shouted. Mako recognized the voice, it was Bolin.
Mako lifted his head from the water and smiled back at Bolin who was waving at him to come to shore. Mako dried himself and exposed his wound.
"Mako! What happened to you there?"
"It's nothing..."
"Nothing? Mako that's nothing what happened!"
Mako let out a sigh, he had to tell his brother.
"I.... I... kissed Yuna... I told Korra and... Well she did this..."
Bolin's expression was the same as Korra's, shocked.
"M.. Mako..." Bolin was hurt too. He was with Yuna as well." Come on Mako... We have to get you healed." Bolin said with disappointment. He couldn't be angered with his brother, he needed him. Mako nodded his head. Bolin helped Mako back inside and into his room.
" thanks..." Mako said. He knew his brother was unsatisfied with his decision.
"Yeah..... " Bolin said. He felt awkward in this situation." Do you need me to do anything else for you?"
"No I'm ok... I'll just take a nap that's it..." Bolin nodded his head and he left the room.
