One and a half hour later, I leave the classroom again. We've got about 15 minutes of break and I want to tank some sun. So I walk through the halls of my school. Along the lockers and the other classrooms. When I leave through the front door, the sun shines right into my face. I close my eyes and sigh. This is beautiful. I take in the autumn air. It smells like its gonna rain soon. I can smell the leaves, the dirt, nature, coffee, everything! Wait! Coffee? Why does it smell like coffee here? I open my eyes and look around. About five meters away from me there is a coffee cart. You know... Those mobile coffee shops. And someone stands behind it and the masses of girls. They all want coffee. From him. Maybe it's because the coffee from the school cafeteria is very bad and so I can totally understand them all. I decide to also get one since the cart is apparently fro. Espresso house. "Hi love! Want some coffee? It's on me." Peter sounds proud offering me a drink. He's never done it before. He has appeared behind me all of a sudden. I nod and we walk, holding hands, towards the crowd. Apparently Oscar is signing coffee cups for some girls. Really? They all seem to know him. I also hear the names of Olly and Felix and Omar. When, finally, Peter and I are arriving on the cart, osxar smiles his arrogant, compelling smile at me. "What do you drink? Peter asks looking at the menu. Just as I'm about to say something, Oscar interrupts. "its OK I've already got it here. Vanilla latte. Just the way you like it. It's on the house." He hands me a fresh cup of pure freedom. I haven't had a coffee in ages. I just never felt like it. However... Now I do. I really do. Because only the smell gives me goosebumps and my heart beats faster, whether or not that because of the coffee and not Oscar is discussable. I take the cup from him and our hands touch for a second. He looks into my eyes. I look back at him. Within his eyes I see hope. Hope for what? For me coming back to him? That won't happen. So I smile at him. "Thank you!" Then I turn at Peter. "Common darling." I say taking his hand and pull him back into the house.

Next class is math. None of my friends are here and neither is Peter. I sit in the back row with a free spot next to me. I always use math class to go somewhere else. A different world. A world of numbers and equations. I love math. I live it because I all makes perfect sense. There's no "maybe" and there's no "could be" everything is just the way it is and there's no by chance. At least not in theory. In practice, it looks a little different.
As the teacher comes in after he has left for the principals office, someone is with him. Everybody is working. Nobody sees the person walking into the room after him. Nobody except for me. I somehow seem to have a radar for a single person. I always know when he's here. You've probably already guessed who it is because otherwise this story would be boring. Of course it's Oscar. The blond swede smiles very wide and very arrogant. Instantly I sink into my chair while dug deep into my equations hoping he can't see me. But of course my luck does its magic again and the teacher points at the back row. Not disturbing the class, Oscar walks to the seat the teacher has shown him. Exactly! The free seat next to me. I somehow still hope I am invisible so Oscar doesn't see me. But... Nothing. He looks right at me I can feel it. It just makes me lean over my sheet even deeper. Oscar sits down next to me and takes out his stuff. "Class! Listen up!" The teacher says thankfully and everyone's concentration goes to the from of the room. "If you all turn to the back of the room, we have a new student. His name is Oscar an he is from Sweden. His German is not that good yet so forgive him a little." He says introducing Oscar in german. "I have to leave the room for a little while to look for a missing student. Please keep working quietly and finish your tasks." With these words he leaves the room. As the door closes behind him, everybody stops working and starts talking and eating and throwing things around. "What are you doing here?" I say and turn around to oscar who has just taken out some kind of lunch box. "I told you! I'm proving to you that we belong together." He says as cool as a cucumber and opens the box. Lasagne!
"So what? You made me coffee? What is that supposed to prove?" I say with a lot of effort. The smell of the lasagne is eating me up from the inside. What an expression...
"It proves that I know what kind of coffee you drink... What flavour you LOVE. And your so called boyfriend doesn't." He says still as cool as before and starts digging in. "And what exactly are you trying to prove now?" I ask and the liquid in my mouth seems to have dried out. "I'm proving how well I know you." He says with a full mouth. "So you made this lasagne because you know I love it and you're hoping I would ask you for some?" This is so what I want to do.
"No I made it because I know you couldn't resist the hunger and I know you will ask me for some and than you will eat the whole thing." He chuckles.
"You're pretty ahead of yourself. Aren't you?" I ask amused. Because I know he's right. "And I know that you're pretty tense right now because you want me but you think you can't have me because we come from two different worlds, which is not true btw, and I know that eating this delicious lasagne will relax you and you'll open up to me. And I also know that you love me just as much as you love lasagne and Coffee." I ignore the fact on how right he actually is. And all I want it kiss him right now. But I suppress the urge. Instead I decide to make his life miserable.
