Chapter Nineteen

Olivia walked slowly across the floor, Kelly standing in the doorway, his arms crossed. "Dad?" Olivia croaked as she laid her hand on Matt's hand, not getting a response. Olivia then laid her head on Matt's chest, feeling it rise. "Daddy, I know you can hear me," Olivia whimpered, lifting her head and bringing it to Matt's, silently singing a song into his ear. "I will rise when he calls my name. No more sorrow, no more pain" Olivia then felt a hand running up and down her arm, Olivia pulling back and staring down at her fathers face, his eyes open. "Uncle Kelly, he's awake!" Olivia exclaimed as Kelly quickly walked into the room, cracking a smile. "You gotta stop doing this Casey. You've almost used up all your nine lives!" Kelly laughed, Matt rubbing his forehead. "What, what's going on?" Matt asked, Olivia smiling. "Moms having the baby" Matt looked at Olivia and his eyes widened, Matt trying to sit up. "Whoa, you gotta stay glued to that bed. Haven't you noticed the two antennas sticking out the sides of your head?" Kelly asked, Matt rolling his eyes. "I can't stay in here. She needs me" "Everyone at 51 has you covered..." "I need to be there for the birth of my son," Matt replied, Olivia running out of the room and grabbing a nurse, the doctor walking in shorty after. "Ah Mr. Casey, you're awake," Dr. Brooks said as she walked over to Matt's side of the bed, examining his head. "Doc, I understand I'm in bad shape but I need to get out of here" "I'm sorry Mr. Casey but-" "My sons being born in this very hospital! Please!" Matt exclaimed raising his voice, the doctor sighing. "Doc, I mean you can make an exception right? It's not likes he's going anywhere off of hospital grounds," Kelly asked, the doctor slightly nodding her head. "Let me see what I can do," she told them as she exited the room, Matt sighing. "Kelly, do you mind getting me an update on how Gabbys doing please?" Matt asked as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "I got it pal-" "No I'll go!" Olivia exclaimed as she started to walk towards the door, Matt shaking his head. "I didn't ask you to-" "Dad, chill. I know this hospital like the back of my hand. I won't get lost I promise," Olivia told him as she left the room, Kelly laughing. "She just told you" "Shut up Kelly," Matt moaned, Kelly holding his hands up in surrender. "Sorry man," he told him as he sat next to Matt's bed, Matt sighing. "Kelly can you promise me something?" Kelly looked at his friend and placed a hand on his arm. "Sure" "If I was to die, would you look after my family for me?" Matt asked tearing up, Kelly quickly nodding his head. "Always."

"You're doing great Gabby. Keep taking deep breaths," Sylvie coached as Gabby squeezed her hand, Olivia walking into the room. "Mom!" she exclaimed as she ran over to the side of the bed, Gabby giving her a weak smile. "Hey punkin," Gabby replied as another contraction hit her, Gabby immediately squeezing her eyes shut. "Dads awake. He wants to come to the room but Uncle Kelly and I don't think the doctor will let him," Olivia told her, Gabby breathing hard. "Call in the doctor" "Why?" "I want your father to be here for the birth of his son. If he can't come to me, I'm coming to him," Gabby replied, Olivia quickly nodding her head and ran out of the room, tapping the doctor on the arm. "Dr. Halstead!" she exclaimed, Will turning around and staring down at Olivia. "Hey Liv what's-" "Is there any way my mom can be moved into the room with my dad? She wants him to be there for my baby brothers birth, and since he's not able to get out of bed, my mom wants to go to him," Olivia asked, giving Will her puppy eyes. Will stared down at her, biting his lip. "It's against hospital regulations but... Let's do it," he told her, Olivia giving him a big hug. "Thank you so much Dr. Halstead" "Call me Will," he replied as he walked with her back into the room, Gabby flashing a weak smile. "Hey Will," she mumbled as she tried to sit up, Will gently pushing her shoulder back down. "Woah there Gabriela Casey. You do realize you're in labor right?" Will asked, Gabby chuckling. "Yeah I do but could you bring me to my husband? I don't want him to miss this."

"Hey baby I came as fast as I could," Violet said as she entered the ER, giving Max a hug. "Ah it's about time you got here!" Herrmann exclaimed as he rose from his chair, wrapping Violet in his embrace. "How're they holding up?" Violet asked as she pulled away from Herrmann, Max shrugging. "Gabby is 8 centimeters dilated, so Paul should be here anytime now and Matt has woke up from his coma" "He was in a coma?" Violet asked shocked, Max nodding. "He re fractured his skull," Max explained, Violet rolling her eyes. "Is that man ever careful?!" "No, no he's not," Peyton replied as he got up and nervously paced around the ER, Olivia suddenly emerging from the doors, a smile on her face. "What's the news kid?" Herrmann asked as everyone raised from their seats, Olivia standing up straight. "He's here!" she exclaimed, everyone from firehouse 51 clapping. "So, do you have a picture?" Cruz asked, Olivia nodding as she pulled out her dads phone and showed them, Herrmann smiling. "He looks a lot like you kid" "I sure hope so," Olivia laughed as Peyton walked over, staring at the picture. "He's adorable!" Olivia looked at Peyton's face as he stared the picture of her little brother, feeling her heart flutter. "You think so?" she asked, her cheeks getting hot. "Absolutely. Like Herrmann said, he looks a lot like you," Peyton replied, Olivia giggling. "You want to come see him?" Peyton looked at Max who nodded, Peyton following Olivia through the double doors, walking to Gabbys room. "Sorry if it's a bit crowded. There's one too many hospital beds in there," Olivia laughed, Peyton putting his hands in his jean pockets. "Ah I don't mind. Are my parents still in there?" Peyton asked as they ran into April, April smiling. "Hey Peyton! Look how big you've gotten!" April exclaimed as she pulled Peyton close, ruffling his hair. "Hey April," Peyton replied, Olivia looking confused. "You two know each other?" "Honey, I'm one of the nurses that looked after Peyton here when he was born," April replied, Olivia's eyes going wide. "Well ain't that something!" Olivia exclaimed, April laughing. "Also, congratulations on your little brother Olivia. He's a little blessing," April told her as she walked away, Olivia smiling. "Thanks..." she mumbled under her breath as she knocked and entered the room with Peyton, immediately seeing Gabby sitting up in bed with a little bundle. "Hey you guys!" Kelly exclaimed as he walked over and pulled his son close, Peyton staring at the baby. "He's so little," he said quietly as Paul reached up his little hand, grasping Gabbys finger. "Come on over. I promise he won't bite," Gabby giggled as Peyton walked over and stared down at the baby, Pauls blue eyes locking with his. "He has blue eyes just like you Liv," Peyton said in shock, Olivia nodding. "I'm surprised none of my kids got their mothers beautiful brown eyes," Matt then said, Gabby looking over to him and smiling. "You're cruisin," she replied, Sylvie laughing. "Do you mind if I bring him out and show everyone from 51?" Sylvie asked, Gabby nodding. "Of course. Just make sure to keep him away from Cruz. I heard him this morning in the shower and he needs to get his cold checked out" "Oh no he was actually singing," Sylvie said placing her hands on her hips and nodding her head, Gabby looking over to Matt who shrugged his shoulders. "That was singing?" "You should hear him when he actually does have a cold. He sounds like an angel," Sylvie laughed as she picked up Paul and held him close, Kelly walking over and wrapping his arm around her back. "Want another one?" he asked as he quickly kissed her neck, Sylvie chuckling. "In your dreams" "Oh yeah that's right. That is in my dreams," Kelly replied back as he playfully poked her and kissed her cheek, watching her walk out. He then looked down at his ten year old son who looked back up at him, his arms crossed. "Dad, what did I tell you about PDA?" he asked, everyone in the room laughing. "How do you even know what that is?" Kelly questioned, Peyton sighing. "Well, it's whatever the hall monitor calls out whenever Marcus and Alexa hold hands" "Wait, what?!" Kelly asked as he crossed his arms, Peyton uncrossing his. "Oh uh, did I say that out loud?" Peyton asked looking at Olivia, Olivia nodding her head. "Wait you knew about this?" Kelly questioned as he looked at Olivia, Olivia holding her hands up in surrender. "Whoa, I'm not apart of this. That's a family matter" "As far as I'm considered, you are family so spill little lady," Kelly demanded, Matt staring at him. "Kelly..." "Matt," Kelly replied looking at Matt who's brows started to scrunch, Gabby gulping. "Yes, yes I did know about it but like I said. It's none of my business," Olivia replied as she walked out of the room, Kelly glaring at his son, a disappointed look upon his face. "I can't believe you didn't tell me about this," Kelly mumble angrily under his breath, Peyton sighing. "Dad, what's the big deal?" "What's the big deal Peyton?! Really?!" Kelly roared, Peyton jumping back in fear. "Kelly I think you should take a walk," Matt told him as he pointed towards the door, Kelly glaring at everybody before swinging the door to the hospital room open, walking down the hallway. "I'm sorry about that Uncle Matt and Aunt Gabby," Peyton said as he looked at the both of them, Gabby motioning Peyton to come to the side of her bed. Peyton did as he was told and sat on the side of it, Gabby suddenly pulling him close, Peyton crying into her chest. "I don't know what I'm doing wrong!" he cried, Gabby stroking his head. "You didn't do anything wrong sweetie. Your dad well, just has a temper he sometimes can't control" "I know but the only way he controls it scares me," Peyton replied, Gabby pulling back and looking into his eyes. "What would that be?" "Everytime he goes out and drinks at Molly's when he's angry, I always think it's going to be the last time I see him. I'm afraid that one day, I'll never see him again."
