Two months later.
"Diapers?" "Check." "Diaper bag?" "Check." "Wipes, extra clothes, bottles, and a couple towels just in case?" I asked. Meghan held her hands on her hips and rolled her eyes. "Justin, we have everything. Can we please get a move on now?" I nodded and leaned down to kiss her pouty lips. "Yes, we can leave, my queen."
I gathered the baby's bag and Meghan's and walked downstairs to load up the car. When I got down there, Aysia and her brothers were already arguing about who gets the car charger first.
"I'm the oldest, I have needs! Y'all don't even have phones yet!" She smacked her teeth. Jaylen and Jaceon argued back with her. "We have video games though! We need the charger to play multiplayer because Jaylen didn't charge his game up last night!" Jace yelled back.
As soon as they spotted me, the twins ran at me full force and tugged on my joggers. "Daddy, tell Aysia to give us the portable charger! You bought it for all of us to use but she isn't being fair!" Jay said and crossed his arms over his chest. Jace nodded his head, agreeing with his brother. "Malaysia share with you brothers please. Your mother and I are both bringing our chargers so you can use one of ours when you need it."
She sighed and gave Jace the charger. "Fine, you two win this time but mark my words, I will leave you outside in the forest when we get there. That's why there's gonna be bears where we're going." The twins gasped and both of their lips started to tremble. I sighed. "Aysia, apologize to them. There will be no bears where we're staying."
"Okay. I'm sorry....for telling them about the bears." She sat down beside on the sofa and pulled out her brand new iPhone 6s Plus with attitude. Spoiled ass.
Meghan walked down the steps with our baby girl in her arms. I smiled at the sight and walked over to them before she could even get down the stairs good enough. "Can I hold her?"
Her face softened and she nodded. "You don't have to ask me to hold your daughter, Justin. She might be a little cranky though because she just woke up." I grabbed Makenna from her and wrapped my arms around her small body. She laid her head on my chest and started baby talking. "That ain't fair. She was pissed off when I had her but it's like a switch flipped when she got in your arms." I shrugged. "I have that effect on girls. Ain't that right, baby?" I tickled her tummy and watched as she threw her head back in laughter.
"Okay, time to go." Meghan clapped her hands together and walked in front of me. "Come on kids, let's get a move on." All of the kids left out of the house and got in the truck, leaving only the three of us. Meghan grabbed my shoulder softly, making me turn to face her. "Baby...I have something for you before we leave." I was confused. What could she possibly have for me that couldn't wait?
She walked over to the table and pulled out the small hidden drawer underneath that we hid important files in. When she stood back up, there was an envelope in her hand. "It came in the mail yesterday I guess. Aysia brought it to me this morning when she checked the mailbox."
I slowly nodded and sat down on the sofa beside her. "Can you open it?" I said and she nodded. She took a deep breath and tore through the envelope. Her eyes scanned the white paper until she looked at the bottom. Then, she covered her mouth with her hand. She took Makenna out of my arms and watched me closely. "What? What does it say? You're scaring me.."
"Justin, you're not her father."
