you splashed over me like a silken blanket, warming the cockles of my heart and pulling my heartstrings undone with your smile. oh that smile; silent like stars streaking across the sky and soft like dew and moonlight. you made me fall into your arms once, and before i knew it i had given my soul to see you grin. in the frigid silence of the nights we spent together i wished so many wishes on you. i wished for you to be happy and healthy and safe from the fingers of the world that would never hesitate to slide its fingers round your pretty throat. (but your silence presses against my neck and i cannot breathe, just like how i cannot breathe when i see your face.) nothing is the same with or without you, and nothing has been the same after you.
