♫✯Athena’s P.O.V✯♫
My heels clicked against the floor as I walked down the empty hallway to the conference room. Oh goody, I get to see how pissed off my manager and producer are about my disappearing act. I popped my bubble gum as I opened the door to the conference room. All three heads snapped in my direction. I rolled my eyes under my shades before pulling them up. I popped my bubblegum once more before spitting it out in the trash and sitting down.
“You look like a slut.” Mike said.
“And you sound like a grumpy jackass.” I said with a fake pouty face. “Now what’s got Mr. Grumpy’s panties in a bunch?” I asked crossing my arms.
“You.” Josh answered.
“Me? What did I do?” I asked.
“I don’t know, you kind of disappeared off the face of the earth!” Mike yelled.
“No need to raise your voice. And I needed a break. I couldn’t tell you where I was going because one, you’d come with me. Two, you’d send someone with me. And three, because I just wanted to be left the fuck alone!” I said calmly with a smile on my face.
“You weren’t alone though.” Josh said.
“Of course not. I wanted to spend time with my childhood bestie.” I said smiling. “His name is Cameron. We’ve been best friends since the day we were born. Really, our mom’s were best friends. They had us three days apart. We had cribs next to each other at the hospital nursery. We were best friends ever since.
“Are you sure you guys are just friends?” Mike asked.
“Of course I’m sure. What are you getting at?” I asked.
“They’re trying to saw the paparazzi and mike and josh think he’s your secret boyfriend.” Liam spoke up from his chair.
“What?!” I asked snapping my head to him. He simply nodded. “No way! That’s ridiculous.” I said appalled by accusation.
“It’s not that ridiculous to think this. Look.” Josh said before handing me a folder of pictures. They were pics of me and Cameron. At the park. Getting ice cream. Going to the movies. Stealing each other’s food. Going swimming. To me they seemed perfectly normal, but I guess that’s because I know the whole truth. They didn’t.
“We are not, in any way shape or form, romantically involved. That’s sick to even think about. He’s like a brother to me. I couldn’t possibly even think about thinking about thinking about thinking about possibly even remotely liking him. It’s too weird and… gross! Ew!” I said kind of getting really grossed out by this whole conversation. Cameron and I were best friends. Nothing more, nothing less. Simply best friends. And I fucking liked it that way! I loved it that ways! I wouldn’t want it any other way except for the way that it is.
“Well you may think that but Hollywood sure doesn’t.” Mike said. He turned on the T.V. to one of the Hollywood talk show things.
“A major hot topic going on in Hollywood right now is the scandal of America’s sweetheart and bad boy’s relationships. Could it be taking a turn for the worse now that there is a new guy involved? All we know is that Athena disappears all of a sudden and meets up with that guy at the Atlanta air port. It was a very warm welcome indeed.” She said before showing a video of me running up to Cam and hugging him. “Leaving poor Liam here without anyone. Who is this mystery guy? A friend or a lover? And what about Liam? Did he know about this little reunion or not?” She ended and the T.V. shut off.
“Not!” Liam mumbled from his seat.
“And Cameron’s not even the least of your worries. You better be glad these didn’t get out.” Josh said before showing me pictures of me partying and drinking ad other stuff.
