Chapter Fifteen

I woke up the next morning with a text from Nina. "I'm here! Lets Skype when you get up. Ill be up for a while, fucking jet lag!" She texted. It was ten in the morning. Jay was sleeping next to me, so I silently got up and walked out into the living room.

I opened my laptop and signed into Skype. It said Nina was online, so I called her.

Two minutes after waiting, she finally picked up. "Hey girl!"'I said, once her face was on camera. "Hey! How are you? We miss you!" Nina said in a sort of a whisper. "I miss you too!" I said. Then Haley walked over and shoved her face into the camera. "Hi!" She said. "Hey weirdo!" I said with a laugh. Once Nina had smacked her in the side of the head, Haley sat down next to Nina.

"So how's New York?" I asked. "It's madness!" Haley said, while waving her hands over her head. "Why?" "We almost got into a fucking accident!" Haley said. "What?" I said, slightly scared and surprised. "We're fine." Nina finally concluded. "Well that's good." I said. We stayed silent for a while. I thought it was best to not tell Nina and Haley what had happened. I didn't want to scare them, and honestly I didn't want to relive the memory.

"Well, I better go get ready for work." I finally said. "Yeah! Same here." Nina said. "Good luck at work! I have faith that you will do just fine!" I said with a bright smile. "Thanks love, you too." "Bye!" We all said at the same time.

I closed my laptop and laid back down on the couch and closed my eyes. I lied, I didn't have to work until tomorrow but I have been up all night thinking about what had happened. If Nick had gotten any further, I could have gotten an STD, and possibly pregnant. The thought of me being a mom sent a shiver up my spine.

I heard footsteps down the hall, and Jay soon appeared in the living room. "Morning." He said, walking over to give me a kiss. "Morning." I said. He sat down next to me and put his hand on mine. "Are you alright?" He asked. I shrugged my shoulders. I didnt know what I was.

"Not really. I'm scared. The fact is settling into me that I had almost gotten..." Then I trailed off into my own thoughts. I hated to say the word out loud. "I understand. And I'm pretty sure that it traumatized you, but remember that it's all over, he's locked up, and it will never happen again." Jay reassured me. "I know." "So are you going to be okay?" He asked. "Yeah." He kissed my forehead and got up and went into the kitchen.

I grabbed my phone off the coffee table and checked my emails. Nothing special there.

"You want to go out tonight?" Jay called out from the kitchen. "Sure." I said. "Say around... Six? Tom and Kelsey wanted to meet us out tonight." Jay said. My eyes shot up and I ran into the kitchen. "Who's Kelsey?" I asked.

"Old friend of Toms. She's owns her own dance company with her best friend." He said. "Oh." "Do you think Haley would be alright with it?" Jay asked. "I don't know, maybe." Then I gave it a thought. "Probably not." I finally said. Jay shrugged his shoulders. "Well, I'm gonna head back to my flat." Jay gave me a kiss on the cheek, then he left.

I sat back down on the couch and turned on the T.V. A Doctor Who marathon was on, so I decided to make myself comfortable.

Around four o clock, I decided to shut off the T.V. And get ready. I took a shower then just slid on a pair of jeans and a Nirvana t-shirt with a pair of black converse. I just put on mascara and some lip balm and put my hair into a ponytail. I didnt exactly feel like getting dressed up, or suffer in five inch heels so I went as simple as I could.

Around five-thirty, Jay knocked on my door, and I left the flat.

"Nice. Simple." He said. I gave him a glance. "What's wrong with simple?" I asked. "Nothing. I'm just saying that I like it." "Well you sounded like you were being a smart ass, if I do say so myself." I said. Jay rolled his eyes and we got in the car.
