Sonya
Opening my eyes, I'm immediately met with Coley's sleeping face, which causes me to smile. She's beautiful. I roll onto my back, untangling my body from hers, to my dismay. I could stay in that position forever, honestly.
I stretch my limbs, yawning. I look over at the bedside clock, which shows that it's almost nine in the morning. I grunt, looking over at Coley, knowing fully well she's basically dead to the world right now. Damn her for always sleeping in so much.
I pull the covers off my body, and get out of bed. I turn back around, and tuck the duvet under Coley's sleeping form, and she smiles unconsciously, snuggling even more into the blanket. I lean in, and place a small kiss on her temple. I'm so in love with this girl, it's unreal.
I sigh contentedly, something I seem to be doing much more of since we've left Austin, and exit the bedroom, and making my way to the bathroom. After freshening up, I go to the kitchen. There, I see Maddison eating a piece of toast, watching the morning news from her place on the stool at the counter.
"Good morning," I tell her, making myself a cup of coffee from the Keurig machine
Maddie looks at me, smiling brightly. She swallows what she was chewing. "Hey, Sonya. What are your plans for today?"
Shrugging, I sit down beside her at the counter. "Honestly, I'm not sure. I kind of feel like going to explore. Yesterday, Coley and I basically stayed in here the entire day. I want to go out," I tell her. Maddison nods.
"You should go to this cute café down the street for lunch, Dan and I always go there. It's really good!" she gushes, and I catch the glint in her eyes when she mentions his name. Oh, she's totally got the hots for him.
I nod. "Yeah, that's a good idea, then we can go walk the streets, get a feel for our surroundings.
"Yeah, you'll get used to it," Maddie says. She finishes her toast, before looking at me once more. "You know, I actually am really happy the two of you are here. I really missed you girls..." she trails off. She sighs. "I will never forgive myself for leaving Coley back in Texas. I should've been there for her."
I shake my head. "Maddie, no, don't think like that. You were pursuing your dreams. Don't blame yourself for that."
Maddie smiles sadly at me. "I know... but still. If I'd known for sure what Coley was going through... I really do love the both of you. I will forever support you guys." She smiles again, and I reciprocate it.
"You're the big sister I never had," I admit, and Maddison reaches over and hugs me from her seat on the stool. I wrap my arms around her neck, and revel in the comfort this brings me. Maddison Hamilton is one of the nicest human beings I've ever met. She's incredible.
We pull apart, and Maddison pats my arm. "I'm glad you and Coley have each other." I smile at this. She checks her watch, and her eyes widen.
"Shit, I'll be late for work. I better get going," Maddie says, jumping off her stool, and grabbing her keys from the counter. I bid her a good day, and she tells me to have fun, before exiting the loft. I sigh, and finish my cup of coffee before deciding to take a shower.
After closing the bathroom door behind me, I turn on the water, and take my p.js off, and hop into the shower. While in there, I begin to think about some things. I then realize that I tend to think a lot in the shower. It's like, the perfect place to contemplate everything.
I'm honestly so goddamn happy to be here. Things have been so much better than they've ever been in the entirety of my nineteen years. And we've only been in Manhattan for two days.
