I walked on the beach, my feet sinking into the warm sand. Thinking of a way to tell y/n that I’d be leaving for a promo tour. I had just got back less then 2 weeks ago. Y/n caught up to me and began walking in sync with me; I intertwined my fingers into hers.
“Y/n?” I asked squeezing her hand gently.
“Yea babe” She beckoned, exposing her beautiful smile. Looking into her eyes was like looking into my future. We were destined to be together, but with my profession, we’ve been spending too much time apart.
“Walter called me yesterday” I managed to get out.
“Yea . . . and what’d he say?” She asked, our syncing walk had halted.
“We’ve got this really great opportunity, he talked it over with the rest of the boys and they’re down with it.” I asked rubbing the back of my neck with nervousness.
“What is it?” She asked with her eyebrows furrowed. Although I hadn’t told her yet, I could see the worry on her face.
“Mind you babe, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity” I said looking down at the ground as I fiddled with her fingers.
“Craig you’re worrying me, what is it?”
“It’s a promo tour babe, we'll only be gone for 3 weeks.
“Wait what?” She asked with her eyebrows furrowed
‘It’s a promo tour, -
“No I heard that part” She said cutting me off
“We'll be gone for three weeks babe this is a –“
“Craig you just got back, less than a week and a half ago!” she said cutting me off again. “I’m just now getting used to you being here, seeing you, and waking up next to you. Spending time with you, why now?” She said, her lip began to tremble and I could see her eyes glazing over. “Why now?” She winced.
“Y/n, baby it’s only for three weeks. And it’s a one time opportunity.” I said sliding my hands around her waist. “July’s coming; you know that’s when we get tour time off”.
“Craig you said that last time! But you were gone for 3 months; 3 months.. do you know how it was to not be with you for three months? Be able to touch you, see you, wake up to you, and make love to you?”
“Y/n, please. You know how much my career means to me. I assure you , I’m not going anywhere baby. I’ll always be here because I need you , just as much as you need me. I’m not leaving forever, this is just three weeks. Three weeks and I’ll be back home. With you in my arms again, so please, don’t be like this” I said running my thumb across her cheek, lifting her face to mine.
“I just don’t want you to leave me again”. She said, a tear running down her cheek.
“Baby, you know I'll be back. I promise.”
“Promise?” She asked ,a smile tugging at the corners of her plump lips.
“I promise.” I said kissing her tears.
