Chapter 9

Louis' POV

Running, screaming, silent tears stroking my cheeks. My feet hit the pavement hard as I shoot forward. He's right behind me. He's Following me, chasing me. I'm outrunning him for now, but he'll catch up eventually, he always does. I never could outrun him for long. Sure enough my feet get caught on each other and my face hits the pavement. Blood clouds my vision as I watch him approach my body. My body tenses in fear as I wait for a kick, punch, something. For a while nothing happens. My vision focuses blankly at the horizon until figures start to approach me. I see my mother walking towards me with my eldest sisters hand grasped in her own. I lift my head slightly and call out to her.

"Run mum! I'm sorry," I yell at her. At least if I die at his hands she'll know that all I wanted to do was protect her and she'll know I'm sorry that I couldn't. She can forgive me, but ill never forgive myself.

My mother and sister kneel down in front of me. Both of them are smiling widely. Why they're smiling at my pain is unfathomable. My mother kisses my cheek and walks away dragging my sister behind her. Before they get too far my sister turns to face me.

"Don't worry, Lou. He'll save you." She smiles before disappearing behind my mother.

"Who will save me?" I exclaim weakly, but its too late. Next I see my younger sister running at me. She lies down beside me and rubs our noses together.

"Hey Lou," she grins. I blink and suddenly my dream is no longer a nightmare. Instead of cold hard pavement beneath me I'm lying on a large bed with my sister still pressed against me. I sigh contently at my happy dream. I hear footsteps around me and I roll over.

"You forgot one Lou," that melodic voice rings. My eyes scan around me and fall on Harry who's walking towards me with my last sister in his arms. He smiles at her and places her next to me. Both twins crawl over me pinning me to the bed. Both my arms are sprawled beside me and Harry places his hand on top of mine. The gesture reminds me of the similar one that happend on the plane ride. I smile gently at him and he releases my hand and slips away.

"Lou! Lou! Lou!" The twins shout and start to jump on the bed.

"What?" I chuckle.

"He's gonna save you, Lou! He's gonna save you!" They both shout happily.

"Who? Who's going to save me?" I ask quickly.

"You know who silly!" They giggle

"Save me from what?" I add.

"Yourself, Loubear." They both stop jumping.

"Myself? I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself," I stutter.

"Sure you're capable of taking care of yourself, Lou, but the thing is, you don't have too. Let him help you," both girls slide off the bed and disappear. Suddenly I'm back on the pavement being kicked and punched. I cry out in agony and confusion. My blood is pumping hot in my veins and my face is flushed. Suddenly the heat in my body is replaced with a cool rush. Cold tendrils swipe down my face and my eyes slowly open. I'm startled to see Harry's face right above mine.

A dream. Another dream. Thats all it ever was was a dream.

"Hey," Harry speaks quietly and smiles.
