***Hey guys sorry for updating in awhile. I was having a major writer's block! I've got it sorted out now. Hope you like this long chapter as a sorry!
Cinder's POV
I couldn't think straight. I mean it was my wedding day, and no one thinks well on their wedding day.
I was being fussed over by the girls. When Iko came in, her eyes bugged out of her head.
"Oh my stars, Cinder you look amazing! Your dress is so pretty, who picked it out?" she asked.
"I did. Cinder, stop squirming, it's just a dress," Winter ordered.
"I'm sorry, but your last-minute mending is poking me!" I retorted.
"Yeah, we all had a part in it. I got to do the accessories, like the cute crystal necklace and earring set. I found the white bracelet to match," Scarlet said.
Cinder had to admit, the necklace and earrings were stunning. They were actually her mother's. That's right, Queen Channary herself. According to Scarlet, when Michelle Benoit retrieved Cinder from that fire years ago, swaddled in the blankets of baby Selene, were the necklace and earrings.
"It's almost like the Queen knew that she was going to be killed," Scarlet's grandmeré had told Scarlet.
That story touched Cinder's heart everytime she heard it. Now she would carry on her mother's legacy as Queen of Luna and eventually the Eastern Commonwealth as well.
The bracelet was Kai's mother's. I felt proud to wear it. He knew his mom when he was very little, but she had passed away too soon. I made a mental note to never to that with my kids. Never.
"I got to do Cinder's hair," Cress informed Iko.
"Make sense. Your hair must take a lot of work to do, and for all those years in the satallite, wow," Iko said, dazed at Cress's hair.
"Thank you Iko, it did take a lot of time. Well, I decided to let Cinder's gorgeous brown-black hair down with this piece of hair held back with this barrette," she said as she gestured to a small, yet noticable, bright white barrette on Cinder's hair.
"That's so beautiful! Did you buy it?" Iko asked.
Cress shook her head. "No Iko, that barrette was actually my mother's.
My father, Dr. Erland, somehow managed to preserve it after all these years. He found a way to sneak it with the medicine for Thorne's 'blindness'. Attached to it was a note saying: To My Dearest Cresent, With Love, Daddy.""Awwwwww," everyone cooed.
"Thank you, Cress," I said.
"Hey, no problem, I just need it back at the end of the wedding, ok?" she replied.
"Ooh, sounds like another wedding coming up!" Scarlet said. Everyone laughed so hard.
"Shut up, Scarlet," Cress hissed, her face turning as red as Scarlet's hair, which was saying something, 'cause nothing is redder than Scarlet's hair.
"Anyways, Iko I chose the dress," Winter said, going back to work, checking for any errors in my dress.
"It's a lovely pattern. Did you pick it out because of anything, like Scarlet and Cress did?" Iko inquired.
"Well...," Winter started, at a loss for words, "don't tell anyone, but Kai came up to me a couple of weeks ago, when they were just engaged, and asked me to help him find a regal dress for the wedding cermony, and a separate one, which is a surprise for later Cinder, so don't even ask! So, as I was saying, the dress was Kai's idea, but my choice. When I found this beauty," she said pointing towards me with my dress on, "and Kai and I agreed that it would work."
"I guess I can't expect him to gape at me when I come down the aisle in another 2 hours." I said, a little disappointed.
"Actually he hasn't seen you I'm it yet," Winter smirked. Everyone laughed.
I'm so glad I couldn't blush, because if I could, my face would also look like Scarlet's hair.
"Well, we better get going," Iko pointed out.
"Yeah I don't think any of us want to be late for this," said Scarlet.
Iko made sure that none of the boys were in sight and told us when it was safe. Cress and Winter helped me in my dress. Scarlet got the doors for us. I loved my friends so much. Although they would be babysitting for me soon. I smirked when I thought of this.
"Why are you smiling?" Scarlet asked.
"Oh, no reason," I said. Cress and Winter smartly shrugged it off. Scarlet remained confused and quiet, sending me looks at every turn.
We finally got to the main entrance of the castle. We waited for the limo to come and take us to the church.
"All right ladies," Thorne said as he appeared behind us. "Woah," he said as he looked at us. He whistled.
"Kai's gonna be impressed," he said slowly, as if trying to choose his words carefully.
"Thanks, Thorne, you look nice too," I replied.
"Thanks. Listen, we gotta get to the church now. Kai and Jacin are already there. Wolf should be here any minute now." Thorne informed.
"Don't worry I'm here," Wolf said as he appeared behind Scarlet and wrapped his arm around her.
"Let's get goimg," said Iko.
"Agreed," said Winter.
Throne opened the limo door, as Wolf took my hand and helped me in. Then came all my friends.
"Did you hear that Jacin got named the Best Man?" Winter asked.
"Yeah, I know," I responded.
"Hey, aren't Wolf and I also best men?" Thorne asked.
"Yeah well you can choose a Best Man out of your best men," Scarlet said.
"I'm not affected by it," Wolf said.
"Then neither am I," Thorne replied. Everyone laughed.
Today was going to be a great day. It is my wedding day. Nothing could go wrong. I reminded myself. I sighed and had fun with my friends on the fancy limo ride.
