The Big Day Part 1

Kai's POV

Crap. Only another hour until I'm a married man. Ouch.

"Kai, you're going to be okay," Jacin said.

"Yeah, I know," I replied.

"Kai, chill out. All you have to do is to smile, look pretty, and take your vows seriously," he tried to reassure me. It helped, not a lot.

"Sir, all areas of the church are guarded. Half of our men are here. The other half are at the castle. And by the way, congratulations your Highness," one Lunar guard informed, accompanied with an Earthen guard. It was amazing what Earth and Luna could accomplish.

"Thank you for the update, you may leave," Jacin replied. The guards nodded, bowed and turned to leave.

"I have to see to the defenses. You'll be fine. The rest of the guys will be here any minute now. I'll see you later," Jacin said, before leaving me alone.

I paced, not knowing what to do with all my nervous energy. I smooth out my tux, it was starting to get wrinkled.

"Dude, chillax. You'll do great," Thorne said as he and Cress walked up to me. Cress gave me an encouraging hug. Wolf and Scarlet, along with Winter came.

"Thanks guys, I think you should get to your places," I said.

"Aye aye, your Highness, and Kai, get yourself on that alter," Thorne said.

"Sure thing," I said as I walked away.

Cress, Scarlet, and Winter exited the building to join Cinder. Wolf, Jacin, and Throne took their places on the alter.

I was really happy that Cinder couldn't see me now. I was literally shaking with anticipation. The priest for the service took his place.

Citizens all over Earth and Luna filed in and took their seats. My head hurt and I felt faint.

No, I reminded myself. You can't make a fool of your self in front of your country, the world, and Luna. Don't forget about Cinder. Especially not her.

I couldn't let her be disappointed. It was our wedding.

The church bells tolled. 5 minutes left.

Everyone became quiet. 1 minute left.

The Wedding March began. The pianist played exceptionally if I say so myself. Now.

Cress and Scarlet came in with matching light metallic blue dresses. They stood on the other side of the alter.

Winter came in next wearing the same dress as Cress and Scarlet, but she had some silver on it too. Cinder and I thought it would be a nice touch for Winter, since she was the Maid of Honor. All three of the bridesmaids' hair were tied up in buns.

As Winter walked up, I tried rehearsing my lines.

Kai, you're so stupid. All you have to do is say "I Do" ! My head told me.

Shut up. I was going to go with my gut on this one.

Finally, Cinder appeared. Everyone stood up and tried to click some pictures. Iko was chosen to be the flower android (get it?). She looked like she was gonna pop a circuit, her smile was huge.

Cinder was dressed in the gown that Winter and I bought for her. The dress was breathtaking. It was white, naturally, and it had metallic gems in several places. It brought out her inner Cyborg. But I love her just the way she was.
