I wake up in Dominic's bed to the smell of bacon and coffee. Dominic was standing in the doorway to his room with a plate in his hand, and coffee in the other hand.
"How are you doing?" he asks me.
"I'll be better once I get some food in me." I laugh. He lets out a little chuckle and walks over giving me the plate. I take it the plate from him while he places the coffee cup on the nightstand. We both say nothing the whole time I eat. He was probably trying to process everything from last night. I was too, how could he be back already? He wasn't supposed to come back ever. Even if he did come back he wasn't supposed to come anywhere near me. I can't even begin to imagine how confused Dominic must be right now. Especially because he only knows half the story. I finish my bacon and eggs and I had a good amount of coffee left in my cup when he asks his first question.
"You didn't tell me the whole story did you?"
"I've never told anyone the whole story before. I don't know how to or where to start." I say. It's true not even my parents know the real story.
"You can start by telling me if everything you said last night was true."
"Yes it was, I just didn't tell you everything."
"Well, can you please tell me? The guy kind of showed up at my house last night. I'm a part of this whether you like it or not!" That's true, if he is back Dominic needs to know the truth since he is living in my old house. Here we go...
"Okay, so it all started in 8th grade like I told you last night. Samuel Moon moved to town. He was the bad boy and every girl fell for him. He chose me out of all of the girls in the school which I never understood until after we broke up when I started to put all the pieces together. While we were together though he would always make sure I thought I was never good enough. If I cried I was weak, If I tried to carry something heavy even then he would tell me I was a girl and too weak to carry it, when we got into fights if I tried to walk away so I could think for a second he would grab my arm and pull me back, "why couldn't I just make a decision in the moment?" he would ask me. I was never good enough, I was just a weak little girl who should just stick to girly stuff. We dated for about a year and then we broke up because I found out that he was cheating on me. We were one of those couples that kept getting back together and then end up breaking up but we would always get back together." By now Dominic was obviously pissed again.
"This is everything you told me last night." He said.
"I know, the next part is the part that Sam and Elissa don't even know. So you have to promise not to tell them." I choke through my tears.
"Anna you can trust me. I promise I won't tell anyone." He says reassuring me. I can do this, I have to do this. If I don't tell him he could get hurt. It's better if he hears it from me instead of hearing it from someone else.
"He knew who I was before we dated."
"What do you mean?" confusion evident in his voice.
"About a year before we met my sister would spend a lot of time with the wrong type of people. One night they were going to break into a house. It wasn't my sister's idea, she told them that it wasn't a going to end up well. They told her that if she was going to be part of their group she had to go or she wouldn't be "cool". She went along with it because she didn't know what else to do, we were only in 7th grade. They ended up breaking into the house of one of the members of the local gang. They got caught and the whole group left my sister there alone. My sister managed to escape but the guy never forgot. He wanted revenge."
"What are you saying?" Dominic asked obviously confused.
"How much do you know about my sister's death?" I ask, hoping he can make this easier.
