Finding Ava

Chapter 9

Previously:
"Um...I wanted to know if you would like to come to a party with me tonight?" he asks, scratching his neck. Did he really just ask me that?

"Sure. Let me know when to get ready." I smile.

"Ok cool." He stands up from the bed and walks over to the door, exiting the room.

After the door closes I grabbed a pillow and screamed into it. I know its not right to get excited over this when I have a boyfriend but this is Blake that we're talking about. Like be real. Besides we're just friends. At least that's what I think.

All morning I laid down, watching tv and texted Yamile. The twins came in for about thirty minutes until it was time for their nap. I helped Ariel lay them down, then went back to the other room and laid down. As I'm watching tv I begin to drift off to sleep. I try to keep my eyes open but they won't budge to stay open. Eventually I just gave up and went on to sleep.

I took two naps throughout the whole day. That food really got to me today because I usually have a lot of energy. I'm not eating that much ever again. I didn't expect the food to have me like this at all. My body just shut down for most of the morning. 

In the afternoon, I went downstairs to find Ariel in the kitchen preparing lunch, while the gentlemen sat in the living room watching NBA Gametime.

"Finally woke up from your nap?" Aaron asks.

"Yeah." I nod sitting on the floor with the twins. They were playing with their toy cars pretending to be NASCAR race drivers. It was cute.

"Blake, honey." Ariel calls out from the kitchen.

"Yes ma'am." Blake answers.

"Do you mind running to the store for me?"

"Sure. Its not like I have a choice anyways." He mumbled the last part under his breath.

"Ava, do you mind going with him? I know he'll forget something like always."

"I'll go." I stand up. "Let me get my shoes." I tell Blake and he nods.

I run upstairs and grab my shoes by the bed. I quickly put them on then went back downstairs. When I entered the living room again Blake stood up and grabbed his keys off the coffee table. "Ready?" he asks and I nod. Ariel hands me the list on our way out the door.

Blake and I walked out to his car and he unlocks the door so we can get in. I walked over to the passenger side as Blake walks over to the driver's side. We enter the car and put our seatbelts on. Blake checks his mirror then starts the engine up and backs out of the driveway. The first few minutes of the drive is quite until Blake breaks the silence.

"So are you ready for tonight?" he asks.

"Yeah. I haven't been out in a while." I say looking down at my hands.

"Well you're going to have a lot of fun tonight. Especially, because you're with me." I giggle a little and shake my head.

"What's funny?" Blake asks with a smile.

"You. You're a little cocky."

"I've been told. Nah, I was just playing with you. But you're going to have fun foreal." I stared out the window and looked at the things that we passed by. Everything is just so beautiful out here.

We pulled up to Walmart after a twenty minute drive. I made sure, I grabbed the list before getting out of the car. We walked into the store and looked for the first thing that was on the list. It was on the top shelf and I tried to reach for it but I couldn't. I turned to look at Blake who was just standing there quietly laughing at me.
