Finding Ava

Chapter 18

We're now at the hotel somewhere in New Mexico that Aaron picked out on the way. We could go to Adriana's but that's a few more hours and Aaron needs rest. He's been driving for about eight to nine hours. But we'll be good here for tonight and plus we're going to stop by Adriana's anyways though.

I helped Aaron get our bags out of the trunk and we walked inside to grab a room.

It didn't take long which was a surprise. The lady at the front desk handed Aaron two key doors and we made our way to our room. I hope its not a horrible room without a A/C that barely works or has those big cockroaches and crickets. I literally hate bugs and they bug the hell out of me. Its disgusting.

When we walked into the room it wasn't bad at all. The floors were actually pretty clean and the A/C was already on making the room a little chilly.

I walked over to my bed and sat down. I quickly pulled out my pajamas and went into the bathroom to change. Once I finished changing I hopped in the bed and began texting away on my phone. I was still texting Blake. He kept me occupied the whole drive until I fell asleep on him.

I needed to call Yamile and Julian because they've been blowing my phone up for the last three days. I've been ignoring them so I can enjoy my last days in California.

I decided to do a three way phone call so I wouldn't be talking to them for hours. I called Yamile first then added Julian to the call. They hate when I do this because they can't tell me everything they've been dying to tell me. I do it on purpose to piss them off.

"Hi my two favorite people." I say trying not to laugh.

"Don't 'hi my two favorite people' us." Yamile says sarcastically. I laugh quietly to myself. "Why haven't you texted or called us back?"

"I was busy Yami."

"Too busy doing what?"

I mentally rolled my eyes and sighed. This is why I hate talking to them sometimes. They have bad ass attitudes for no reason. Yamile knows I'm already stressed out about the whole 'kidnapping' thing or whatever you want to call it. I have to tell Julian when I get home. Telling him stuff over the phone is not a good idea. I hate getting into arguments on the phone with him.

"Don't worry about it. You shouldn't be coming at me like this when I just told you about something not too long ago." I say annoyed.

"You told her what?" Julian asks.

"I can't tell you over the phone. If you come over tomorrow I'll tell you." He doesn't say anything and I can tell he's upset that I won't tell him.

We talked on the phone for about twenty minutes until I hanged up on them. They were getting on my nerves and I don't have time to deal with their bitchy attitudes. I'm too damn stressed out for this.

"What do you want for dinner? I'm going out in about two hours." Aaron asks. Hmm something good for dinner? Oh I know.

"Chick-fil-a." I smirked. He chuckles and shakes his head.

"Alright. I'm about to take a quick nap." I nodded and plugged my headphones in my ears.

Aaron had finally woke up from his nap and went to go get our dinner.

"Don't forget the Polynesian sauce!" I remind him.

"I won't Ava." he chuckles walking out the room. The door closes and I grab my laptop off the floor.

I went to Netflix and continued watching Criminal Minds.

Fifteen minutes later Aaron comes back to the room with his hands full. I helped him carry the stuff to the table in the corner of the room. Settled, I reached into the bag and pulled out my nuggets and large waffle fries. Then I grabbed the Polynesian sauce and immediately opened it. I sat down at the table and sipped on my lemonade. It was so good.

Aaron and I ate in silence with me occasionally praising the food. It just tastes better and better every time I eat it. Its like my first time eating it again. I could never get tired of this food. When I finished eating I threw my trash away and placed my drink in the small fridge. I cleaned up my area then climbed back into bed. I was kind of tired now. Food always makes me sleepy for some reason.

As I got comfortable my phone was receiving a FaceTime call. I picked it up to see who it was. Blake's name flashed on the screen. I quickly put my headphones on and answered his call. It took a few seconds for his face to appear on the screen. When it did I was almost blown away. He was laying down without a shirt.

"Hey little girl." he smiles.

"Hey." I smile back. I was trying so hard to focus on his face but his amazingly good looking body kept me from doing so.

I scanned his body and started to reminisce about the first time I saw him without a shirt on. God I almost died.

"What are you doing?" he asks bringing me back to reality.

"Just laying down. Bored as hell. What about you?"

"Same. I don't have nobody to hang out with since you're gone now."

I giggle and blush. "You still have your crazy friends." I remind him.

"Yeah but they're not amazing like you. I miss you."

"I miss you too. But you know you could come to Texas. Summer is nowhere near over." A big smile forms on his lips and he starts laughing. What's so funny? I don't get it.

"Maybe we'll come out there then. I would really love that." he says.

"Me too. You can meet my best friend and boyfriend." I stated. "My best friend would probably have a crush on you." I giggled covering my mouth.

"Why do you say that?"

"Because you have the most gorgeous eyes and smile I've ever seen other than Paul Walker." He chuckles and shakes his head.

"I'm going to take that as a compliment." he laughs.

"Take it as whatever you want but I was just stating the obvious." I shrugged.

We stayed on FaceTime for two hours until both of us were dozing off while we were talking. I couldn't stay up anymore so I told Blake that I'll text him in the morning and he gave me a sleepy nod. I'm not even sure if he understood what I just told him but oh well. I ended the call and plugged my phone up then quickly drifted off to sleep.
