Blake’s POV

“Alright, so we are just going to start off with some simple questions. Don’t look into the cameras or anything, just be normal and relaxed. This is just a normal conversation, ok? We want this interview to be super relaxed.” Ryan Seacrest said from beside me on the couch in our family room.

A woman was applying even more makeup to my face as another adjusted my outfit so that my microphone was hidden and everything looked good on camera. Scooter was standing somewhere in the room, just to make sure they didn’t ask any questions that I couldn’t answer.

“Ok, I got it.” I replied, playing with my engagement and wedding ring. They felt so foreign on my left ring finger.

The people cleared and stood behind the camera and Ryan got into interview position with his notes in front of him. I cleared my throat and forced a smile on my face.

“So, how are you Blake?” Ryan asked with a sincere smile.

“I’ve been pretty good! No complaints here.” I replied.

“How about Jayden, he just had a birthday, didn’t he?”

“Yeah, he turned 6! We had a party for him and everything.”

“He’s growing up pretty fast. I remember when he was a tiny baby!” Ryan exclaimed.

“I know! But being a mom has been the most fun experience of my life, so I enjoy watching him grow up. I just don’t want him to be a teenager!” I replied with a laugh.

“So you are scared of Jayden growing up?” Ryan asked.

“Aren’t all parents? Of course I’m scared of him getting older. But at the same time, it’s such a blessing to have him in my life.”

“I’m sure it’s harder when you’re living in this industry too, isn’t it?” he asked.

“The media’s attention comes with this life. I’m not going to sit here and complain, because I have lived this life since I was 17. As much as it sucks, we have to live with it. It’s scary because Jayden asks questions and doesn’t really understand why grown men follow us around with cameras. But when he is old enough to understand, we will explain it to him.” I answered.

“He notices things like paparazzi and stuff? Does he know that his parents are world famous?” Ryan asked.

“I think Jayden knows that he isn’t normal, per say. He knows that his father is a musician.”

“You hear about celebrities wanting to move away from California when they have kids. Have you and Justin ever thought about moving away, maybe back to Canada?”

“Of course, moving away would seem like the easiest solution.” I paused and waited until I could formulate the right words. “But Justin and I’s lives are here in California. I don’t think Justin is ready to give up his career, it’s what he loves to do.” I replied.

“Now we’re going to get into some of the rumors swirling around about you and your life. Are there any truth to the rumors about you and Justin moving into separate houses?” Ryan asked, looking down at his notes.

“The paparazzi and media only see so much. Just because I’m pictured one place and Justin is in another, doesn’t mean we don’t live together or are separated. People see what they want to see.” I answered, trying to be as vague as possible. Thankfully Ryan moved on.

“So you and Justin are not separated? There is not divorce happening?”

“Marriage is hard. It’s a day to day struggle, and everyone who is or has been married can tell you that. But marriage is also about getting through those day to day struggles and I think Justin and I are doing what is right for our son.” I replied, again, trying to be vague.
