The Beautiful, Happy Duckling

Chapter 6

~Anastasia's P.O.V~

It's been a week since me and my best friend, Alicia, have found their mates. I don't know why but I feel as if Alicia is trying to hide something. She seems happy but not to the fullest. It's like something's bugging her and I'm dying to ask her what's wrong but I can't. I don't like invading someone with questions. Everyone deserves privacy. If she wants to tell me, she will by herself.

Right now, we are at my house on my couch watching mine and Alicia's favorite t.v show..

"THE VAMPIRE DIARIES!!" Me and Alicia exclaim out together in excitement as the show starts.

"Do we have to watch it with you?" Robinson asks with an annoyed expression.

"No. You guys can go do whatever you want and do not disturb us for an hour," I say and I see two relieved faces.

Robinson has been really caring and loving towards Alicia. She deserves all of that. After what her parents do to her, she deserves happiness.

Even though she never told me, I know. I'm not dumb. I've seen the scars on her hand and some other parts of her body. There's always a new scar on her body everyday, but I never asked her anything about anything.

"Ana, I want to tell you something..." Alicia starts but pauses.

"Go on. I won't judge,"

"I.... Promise me you won't tell anyone. Not even Robinson."

"Okay, I promise."

"I'mahybrid," she says quickly.

"Woah woah woah. Slow down, sugar pumpkin. I didn't catch a single thing."

"I'm a hybrid, Ana," she says and I couldn't control the laughter so I laugh.

"Literally LOL, Ali. I think you really like The Originals. Klaus has an effect on you," I laugh so hard my stomach hurts.

"I'm not joking, Anastasia!" She shouts and stands up making me shut up.

"I'm sorry, Ali. I didn't know. Sit down and tell me everything before the guys hear us," I say and she sits down while tears drip out of her eyes.

~Alicia's P.O.V~

I had to tell Anastasia. I couldn't keep all of the things in me any longer. The pressure was killing me. I told her why I'm a hybrid and why my parents abuse me.

"So, what you're saying is that your father had an affair with a vampire before marriage and he got her pregnant," Ana says taking in the new information and I nod, "but then your father found his mate, your mother, and the vampire gave birth to you and died. Your father took you in, but hated you because he thought you are the reason for his lover's death?" I nod again, "and why does your step-mother abuse you?"

"Because I'm not her daughter," I say and she scratches her chin in thought.

"Okay, that is so wrong! Why the hell did you never tell me all this?! I thought I was your best friend!"

I hug her tightly because I really needed that, "I'm sorry, Ana. I always wanted to tell you but my parents threatened me that if I tell anyone, they'd kill me. I'm so sorry. Don't leave me," I cry.

She hugs me back tightly and says, "I won't leave you, Ali. We're best friends since childhood and I'm never letting that go into the drain."

I move back and smile at her. Even she has a tear in her eye which makes me want to cry more. Just before we can say something else, I hear the back door opening.

"Shit, they're here, Ana. Wipe your tears. Act normal," I say and she quickly wipes her tears away while I do the same.

"Hey girls, is your drama over?" Andrew asks, and I don't know why Anastasia starts laughing. So much for acting normal.

Robinson comes closer to me, "have you been crying, love?"

"Uhmm yeah. The episode made me cry. Poor Alaric. His wife died on the day of their wedding," I say and I think Robinson believes my lie.

"But then, why is Anastasia laughing?" He asks and I laugh nervously.

"Well, uh, because, uhm, she's crazy. Yeah, she's crazy."

"Hey! I'm not crazy. You're the crazy one," Anastasia says and I try to point her to shutup with my eyes for which she replies with a show of her tongue. And I'm the crazy one.

Robinson tries to touch me, but like always, I scoot away. I don't let him touch me because if he touches one of my scars, it will burn and I'm gonna hiss which would probably make him realize that there is something wrong, and I don't want that.

"Why do you always move away whenever I try to touch you?" He asks and I see Anastasia and Andrew leaving the room from the corner of my eye.

I move a little closer to Robinson, "I don't want to move away from you, but I'm just not ready for all that intimate stuff, Robby. Please understand."

He sighs and stands up taking my hand.

"Wanna go get ice-cream?" He asks.

"Sure."

~Robinson's P.O.V~

Ever since I've found her, I'm really happy, but for some reason she avoids intimacy with me. I will find that out no matter how. I'll start with her house first.
