9 - Friends or not?

"Err... This is Sam and Beth, new friends of ours... And you two, this is Mina and Lu, another two friends of ours," Jin explained as the girls looked us up and down. Mina was the one who had embraced Jungkook, but pushing that aside I smiled at her, and she returned it which was a good start.

"It's good to meet you!" Lu grinned, and we all shook hands and hugged, and after getting aquatinted with each other, we decided to head over back to the boys' apartment (and ours temporarily!).

~1 hour later~

I could tell they were long time friends especially Mina, as she seemed very comfortable in the apartment. It was unfair of me but secretly I wasn't completely happy with her sudden appearance; she would not leave Jungkook alone! Some part of her had to be touching him, whether it be her hand on his shoulder, or her shoulder nudging his, or her head resting on him. Seriously, was there something going on between the two? I couldn't stand it anymore and walked into the kitchen, where Beth and Taehyung were talking.
"Hey! What are you doing?" I said, helping myself to the bowl of crisps that were on the counter, with V's hand quickly following after mine for some crisps too.
"Just chilling and talking," Beth grinned at me; I could see the happiness in her face; she was spending alone time with her bias of course...whereas my bias? In the lounge with some girl who has taken over. I sighed, just as the man himself walked in.

"Hey.." Jungkook smiled tentatively at me, and waved to the other two as well. The two lads exchanged a knowing look, as Jungkook began to explain:
"I met Mina a long time ago, when she was going through family problems, and was there for her to support her. And we've been close since then, but as you've probably worked out, she can be... a bit much, she's always been like that! But she's nice, I hope you can make friends with her and Lu. And...Mina has feelings for me, yes, but I don't have the same for her," Jungkook seemed to direct that last comment towards me as he made eye contact, and grabbed some crisps out of the bowl I was holding before grinning and walking back out of the room. A smile crept onto my face; Stop smiling to yourself! I chided, but the smile refused to be wiped off. He doesn't like her, she's just a friend! Yay!
"Well you have the truth in front of you..." Beth laughed, and I just shook my head and hit her arm playfully. But she still liked him; I felt slight unease but oh well, he said for himself he didn't have those feelings for her...but that didn't mean he had them for me did it, I thought sadly. Shaking off the thoughts, I grabbed Beth and Taehyung and we walked back into the lounge so we weren't missing out on the fun.

~3 hours later~

"Oh, look at the time! We really should be going, thanks for having us, as always!" Lu chucked, standing up from where she was curled sitting on the floor and dusting herself down. Mina also got up, and hugged Jungkook tightly, as tried not to let my smile waver. He just patted her back before pulling away gently, and the two girls made their way to the front door, waving bye to the other boys as well.
"Well, aren't you two coming?" Mina pointed at Beth and I, and we shook our heads.
"No, we're staying here actually," Beth smiled, and Mina's face dropped; her smile turned steely and her eyes narrowed.
"Is that so.." Was all she said, before giving me a warning look and ending with,"How nice... Just watch yourself honey, okay?" She said sickeningly sweetly, her eyes shooting daggers at me before she turned on her heel and stormed out, Lu quickly apologising and running after her.
Jungkook rubbed his forehead and sighed,"I'm sorry-" I shushed him and put a hand on his shoulder, "It's okay, why sorry?" I grinned and, using confidence that came out of nowhere, I slipped my hand into his and pulled him towards the lounge, walking slowly. I could feel my face getting warm, and didn't dare look at him in case he was pulling a face of 'what the hell is she doing holding my hand!' But he didn't pull away...so a good thing, right?

"That's the second time you two are holding hands..!" Jimin smirked, pointing at us as we came through the doorway.
"W-what?" Jungkook stuttered and we let go; he was brushing off his hyungs who were quizzing him and I looked at the floor embarrassed but happy. Beth wiggled her eyebrows at me and I just shook my head, smiling. After a few minutes, we all bid our goodnights and trudged up the stairs to our respective bedrooms. What a good day it's been! Just as I was opening my door, a soft voice whispered in my ear, "Goodnight Sam...Sleep well."
I turned and saw Jungkook heading towards his and Namjoon's room; just before he walked in he turned and smiled shyly, before shutting the door. The day just got better...
