Prologue
I spread my arms out, “Lord Edryn,” then I turn my head to Cedric, my personal butler. “Your mother and I had a small chat.” I look down to Desiree, my maid. She looks up at me and begins to measure my waist with a tape measure, “You will be going to the town that was recently affected by the flood. As long you complete the phase of more publicity.” I smile happily, I always wanted to go there!
He bows and leaves the room and Desiree rises and fixes my collar. I look at her brown eyes, “Sorry,” She mutters and presses her body against me to reach my head, she was fairly short. She pulls away and smiles sweetly, “My prince,” I look at her, awaiting her question. “How long will you be gone?” I look out the window.
“I don’t know.” I answer truthfully.
She pauses for a minute then nods slowly, “Okay,” She bows and smiles lightly, “You are finished milord.”
I step down the stool, “Carlin is coming too.” I note quickly but can't help but glance at her and saw her face full of surprise but she tries her hardest to stay in composure.
She turns to leave, “Hope you two have fun... don’t get... carried away.” She sighs and looks at my feet, “Protect him will you?”
I smirk, “For you, my friend.” I answer, grabbing my coat and bidding farewell I walk out the room.
