Chapter Four: Just acting cool? Unless Your Royalty.
Silence fills the room in a heartbeat, Artic looms his gaze to me and remains having his ‘game face’ I drop my fork in shock, “Y-You guys can do that?”
Artic snorts, breaking the tension. “Of course we can, we’re the royals.” He maintains his serious face again, “And I don’t want ANYTHING to happen to you… You seem like a sweet girl.” He presses his lips against my forehead, shivers race down my spine. “So… will you follow the rules?” I nod hesitantly, “Good girl.” Artic withdraws and stands up, “Ah! Edryn and Carlin, my two favourite brothers!” He opens his arms and I turn to the twins, they are wearing different clothes… and Edryn seems more ‘covered’ up than Carlin, who still sported his unkempt blonde hair… they both have gifts too, and I wonder who they are for?
Edryn starts walking towards me, “Hey Artic,” He glances at the food, “What’s with the food?” Carlin remains silent, his stare at the kitchen door.
Artic sits back down and continues eating, “Teaching Azure dining tips, aren’t I?” He nudges me playfully and I nod, but Edryn’s eyes narrow hinting disbelief. “Now, Edryn what’s in that pink birthday bag? Is it for me?” Artic jokes and continues eating.
Edryn’s gaze on me didn’t falter, “No, it’s for Azure.” He plants it on my lap, “Here. I hope you have fun, let’s go Carlin.” He taps Carlin on the shoulder and they both leave the room.
Silence fills the room as my breath gets caught in my throat. “Azure...” I turn to Artic; his brown eyes are now the friendly orbs I met earlier. His hand reaches for the bag that Edryn gave me, “Let’s see what the Prince gave you.” He opens the bag and smirks, “A beautiful phone, Iphone... Ohh! I have one!” Taken back by his surprise hyper personality, I look away worrying. “Gimme your number!” Artic rips open my box and looks at the handset, “Don’t worry! I’ll put my number in...” Artic completely ignores me and starts assembling the phone.
I blink my eyes rapidly, is Artic bipolar or something? I sigh to myself, Edryn is too... but that’s if you didn’t know about Carlin. But Artic doesn’t have a twin brother... does he? I haven’t seen him switch behind my back or anything... well he hasn’t had the chance to. Maybe my first guess is right, Artic is bipolar. “Sorry,” Artic retains his ‘noble’ personality, “I tend to get excited over the littlest things.” He hands me the Iphone, it was a much more advanced model than my old phone. “Forgive me...” He places a lock of my hair behind my ear, “Azure...” He leans into me, his face inches away from mine... I place my hands on his shoulders, his lips were a millimetre away from mine.
My eyes widen and I push him away, “No... aren’t you married?” Artic sits back with a genuine smile on his face.
“Yes I am, but there’s a secret to that.” Curiosity took over me, “Anyway, I better head off... see you Azure.” He ruffs my hair and walks away. I watch him leave, his hands were in fists. “Azure?” He didn’t turn as he asks my name.
“Yes?” I blurt in surprise since he asks it so quietly.
Artic turns half of his body, “I want to let you know... that I’m sorry.” He opens the door and leaves... Sorry for what? I stare at his plate of food; it still had scraps of meat.
I sit alone, wondering what was happening... Sorry? For what? Trying to kiss me? I look in direction where Artic left. I pick up the Iphone, and the message from Artic scares me. Hope you stay around for dinner. I look down, breathing heavily.
The door opens again and Edryn walks in with a smile, “Hello... Artic’s gone?” He cocks his head to the side cutely, I nod and stand up. “Is the food that terrible?” I shake my head, “Azure? Are you alright?” I hold the phone and shrug, “Talk to me.” He wraps his arms around my waist, his head resting on mine.
