Chapter Three: And then there was Two.

Chapter Three: And then there was Two.

I stand back, looking at the two quickly. “How?”

The flirty Edryn approaches me, “Simple, when a Mummy and Daddy fall in lov-“ He’s interrupted by a sudden smack at the back of his head. My eyes trail to the other Edryn... this is way too confusing, “Forgive my asshole brother.” I cover my mouth, Prince Edryn of Tearend... swore.

The other Edryn glances at me, “You are scaring her.”

“YOU’RE BOTH SCARING ME!” I yell.

Closing my eyes, I attempt to breathe in and out... “Azure.” I open one eye and see the flirty Edryn hold me into a hug, “It’s okay...”

I pull away, “Get off me. Or Explain.”

There’s another weird silence in the room, I hear the other Edryn groan and soon the Edryn hugging me had a shocked expression. His black hair suddenly disappears, showing golden-blonde hair. I widen my eyes, he jerks his head back and stands back up.

The other Edryn folds his arms, “Azure.” He points to the blonde male, “That is Carlin, he is... my twin brother.” He looks down in shame, “He’s the secret.”

Carlin holds up his hand, one finger pointing. “Correction, I’m your HOTTER twin brother.” SMACK! Another hit from his brother, Edryn shakes his head in annoyance.

I press my lips to the side, “Still... What’s go-“

Edryn holds me closely, “Carlin... go to Mother.” He orders.

The blonde stands in place, “Already did.” He glances to me, “Let’s explain everything to little Azure.” He pats my head softly.

We all are sitting on a long sofa, I’m in the middle... focused on Edryn’s explanation, So, here’s their story! He, as in Edryn... told me that when Carlin and him were born... Edryn being first born by thirteen minutes and twenty two seconds, their doctor was signed to confidentiality. But when Carlin was born by surprise, the room was filled with gasps. Because the Royalists were so shocked... Edryn was meant to have a dead twin brother.

And when they both grew up, Carlin was brought into secrecy because of the media’s complete obsession over the royals at the time. Edryn was forced to endure all the publicity because he was already named and planned ahead. The family didn’t want to deal with the media storm that would arise from their misinforming of one of the twins being dead. Plus to top it off Edryn seemed to have stolen most of the maturity genes leaving Carlin very little hence why he’s such a pain most of the time.

But one day, Edryn fell incredibly sick... and he had an important peace agreement to attend to, so the Royal planners set out to make Carlin stand in place... as Edryn.

I sit back, trying my best to take in the newly found information. “But that doesn’t explain why you two have to continue doing it.”

Carlin shrugs, “I don’t know that myself, same for Edryn... They are keeping secrets from... us.”

“So tell me this…” I ask, seriously trying to untangle all the information I just received, “How did you guys do the switching on the plane and all.”

Edryn then attempted to explain that whatever he had Carlin had also and their schedules for each and every day were exactly five minutes behind each other. Edryn was the first one at the park and Carlin came in when Edryn ducked out when my friend left. I then informed them that she was Natalie and she was obsessed with him...uh them.
