Chapter Two: Up Close and Personal
I have to stay in the car due to the publicity that would rise if I walk out of the Prince’s vehicle, I wait in the limo though… Edryn wasn’t kidding when he said he has to change cars. But the limo has more stuff that can keep me entertained for two hours, T.V. That’s good enough. WITH AUSTAR!
Soon the door opens revealing a drenched Edryn, he smiles. “It’s raining.” I blink twice, he smiles in the way he did when he gave me the drink back home. He hops in and the car begins to slowly drive out of the town. “We can go home now.” He grins and I smile excited.
He opens my handbag, “HEY!” He takes out my phone, “What are you doing?” I ask, more like demand for an answer.
He flips it open, “Ringing your parents, I don’t want to leave a bad impression.” I cross my arms, “Azure, relax.”
I sigh annoyed at him and take out a Coca-Cola from the mini-fridge, “Hello.” He smiles, “Yes it’s me. I’m using your daughter’s phone.” He looks around, “We are going back to my country, just letting you know.” He nods and grins, I mentally groan… He does know that no one can see him right? His eyes are now searching the interior of the car, his blue eyes settle on me. It’s a fairly odd hue, but it really stood out… almost like electricity.
He must have known I am staring at him because, he smirks again. “Listen I got to go, your daughter is just wonderful.” He hangs up and tosses me my phone, “Thanks Azure.”
I closes the phone in confusion, “Um, no problem…” I turn and ignore his stares aimed at me, “Edryn…” He smiles at the corner of my peripheral view. “This is going way too fast for me…” I mutter, he scoots closer to me.
He has his hands in front of us now, “This is you.” He waves his left hand, I nod trying to understand. “This is me.” He waves his right hand, like before. “I.” He signals his right hand in a squid-like motion, “Had a mission.” He waves his hand crazily, “It was to get more publicity.”
I widen my mouth, “So I’m just a trophy?!” I want to scream now, but he clasped his hand on my mouth.
I sighed mentally, “No. No. No.” He mutters and shakes his head, “It’s because my Mother wants me to get a nice foreign wife.” I smile sweetly, and he removes his hand. “Understand?” I nod slowly, still smiling.
I shake my head to reality, “Why foreign?”
He smirks, “Gives the Royal family the opportunity to tighten the friendship with other countries.”
I gulp loudly, “So, technically… you want to marry me?” He gives a stiff nod, and I sigh… “I guess that’s understandable… but why didn’t you go with Natalie?”
He narrows his eyes, “Who’s Natalie?”
My heart drops… something is up.

Prince Edryn is now going over the whole procedure of the ways of royalty… my head was spinning, it feels like books getting shoved into my head. He tells me he has a personal butler, a forty-four year old who answers to Cedric. And that Cedric knows all his secrets, but Edryn trusts him enough to tell him absolutely everything. And even tells him about me… a thought enters my mind, I never see Edryn really talk to anyone but me. Ignoring that thought, He begins teaching me about the dining table manners… but it’s kind of hard to learn because we don’t have the props.
“This is how you hold a cup of tea,” His pinkie is extended as if the cup itself was dirty; I stare into my cup of water. He nudges me, “Drink it.” I take a deep breath, trying my best to have my hand in the same gesture he has. It reaches my lips and I take a small mouthful, until the whole cup splashes the water in my face. Widening my mouth in shock, Edryn is now laughing uncontrollably. “The car pulled over…” He finally said in between breaths.
