Chapter One: The Prince

This is my favourite story to write :3

Since Fighting the Truth is almost finished... I thought I should give you guys a read.

I am outside, and it's pouring rain. “Oh my god!” My best friend, Natalie is almost squealing with excitement. The policemen has us all line up, no. I wasn’t in trouble... we... I mean Natalie brought me along to go see the Prince. Prince Edryn, he’s the second heir to the throne, we recently went through a flood in our town. And it caught a lot of attention with the media... and Prince Edryn, was interested on how we coped. So he decides to come to our town and talk to the locals, I admire him... he went out of his way to do this... and the town is bustling with excitement to see his arrival.

Natalie nudges my arm, “He’s coming here in 5 MINUTES!” She screeches in my ear, she is usually excited about anything... but meeting a Prince is something she is just ecstatic about. Can’t blame her, never had any type of celebrity rock up here. And we were lucky enough to have the young eighteen year old Prince visit. The crowd gathers outside the city monument were all whispering about him, I would be too... but my feelings aren’t something that I want to reveal out loud.

A white police car parks behind the tree next to the archway, “Prince Edryn will be arriving in two minutes, he just got into town!” His voice cracks halfway through that statement, he must be excited himself. I smile with delight while Natalie drags me through the crowds.

She began to pinch my skin with her fingernails, it’s not so painful... she always does that when thrilled. “Oh my god! How’s my hair?” She quickly runs her hands through her golden ringlets, they are slightly straighter due to the weather. She is a pretty seventeen year old girl who is slightly smaller than me, she had brown eyes that appear green in the sunlight. Opposing my sky blue eyes, which apparently stare into your soul... Her figure is a skinny frame, not too much meat anywhere...  But she is beautiful to me anyway, well... yeah.

Two policemen on motorbikes stop opposite of the archway to the tents that are set up for the Prince, the crowd all the sudden gasp and talk with happiness. Then a white limo drives and parks parallel to the tree next to the arch, Natalie’s green eyes widen as she turns to me and screams, “HE’S HERE!” I jump and smile. A man in a black suit opens the limo door, and the crowd grow more restless. Then a young man stood out of the car, he had spiky black hair. My grin grows even wider, that is the almighty Prince Edryn. The crowd was wild with cheers, along with Natalie who was screaming his name.

He has two men in suits by his side each looking at us intently… I think, they are wearing sunglasses so it’s hard to tell. The local police are at the entrance of the area looking back and forth... they must be patrolling. The Prince was giving us friendly waves and I blush, he is even better-looking in person than I thought. He glances at everyone crowding, then looks up at the sky he is pretty lucky to have an umbrella over his head, “Hello.” He greets us with a million dollar smile that could save a puppy, “All of you should know who I am.” His attire was a white shirt formal shirt with short sleeves, and a black tie with black trousers. He resembles a stereotypical emo kid, but his expression shows otherwise. “It’s wet out here,” The crowd chuckles, “C’mon let’s all get inside.” He walks in first to the tents; he gave me a slight glance… Actually I think he glanced at Natalie.

I sigh as everyone huddle through the garden to the tents, Natalie is practically jumping like a monkey right next to me, I glance to her and think to myself… why am I friends with her? “He’s hotter in person!” She’s squealing over and over. I glance at her now sodden black shirt, “Oh god, I wish I was a princess!” I cock my head to the side in smiles, I’d love to be a princess too… to be admired… it’s something I never thought of that much till now.
