"What can I get you?" Asked the bartender in a tired tone.

"Uhh... Can I just have a water?" I asked in shaky tone.

"Yeah sure, Hun."

I spun around on my bar stool and looked at the calm bar lounge. With only  a dozen people there a was a calm essence that surrounded the room. Dark wood tables, black Leather couches and a modern fireplace helped me calm down.

"Here you go." She placed the cool drink of water in front of me.

"Thank you." I kept looking around and over my shoulder.

"Are you alright? You seem a little nervous?"

"Yeah...yeah... I'm fine I... I... I'm just a little..." I couldn't even finish my sentence as I looked down at my drink.
Suddenly she put her hand on mine. I looked up at her and she gave me a sympathetic frown.

"Boyfriend or family?" She asked me.

"A little bit of both actually." My eyes grew watery and I was about to burst.

"Here come with me." She held my hand and led me behind the bar and through a door that led to the kitchen.
"Kelsey cover for me!" She yelled at a girl who quickly nodded.
We came to a quieter room in the back of the kitchen and by this time I let it all go.
"Hey, hey, it's gonna be okay." She bent her neck to look down at me.
"I know what you're going through. I ran away from my dad when I was 17."
I kept crying but began to calm down.
"How old are you?"

"19," I gasped.

"What's your name?"

"Scarlett."

"Well mine's is Andrea. Look at me." She tilted my head up and asked me, "Do you have anywhere to stay tonight?"
I nodded no.
"Well, you can spend the night on my couch, if you want."
Should I really trust this woman, I just met her, but I don't have any other options now.

"Thank you." I hugged her.

"Alright just wait back here I'm gonna finish my shift in twenty. Have you eaten yet?"
I nodded no.
"Okay, I'll have Paco make you something." She stepped out of the room and left me there.

After her shift Andrea came back and took me to her apartment In the run down part of Chicago. Her apartment was small but wholesome.
As I was ready to go to sleep Andrea came out to the living room.
"You all settled in?" She asked.

"Yeah, thank you again."

"Okay well just try to get some sleep we'll talk In the morning." She turned off the light and went into her room. That night I got my first good night of sleep in years.
