Nick's POV
I love her.
I love Scarlett Levi and I'm such a jackass! How could I let her think that I don't have feelings for her? I was going to take her out last night but I got tired and stressed at work I didn't want to go out and when I say her in the black dress I lost all control. I can't lose her, not again. I'm still chasing her buy at this point I have no idea where she went. I eventually stop. Did I just lose the woman I love forever? I try calling her but she won't pick up. I call the restaurant and ask for Andrea's phone number maybe she knows where she went.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is this Andrea?"
"Yes it is."
"This is Nick Laudel and I'm wondering if you know where Scarlett is?"
"Is she not at the apartment? Is everything alright?"
That's when I began to explain everything. The deal the relationship and what just happened a few minutes ago.
"Well uh. She's running again."
"What do you mean?"
"Scarlett tends to run away from her problems she's only ran away twice since I met her. The first was when she got overwhelmed by seeing her ex and this is the second time."
"Do you know where she could have gone?"
"By what I know about Scarlett she probably went to the lake."
"What how?"
"I don't know but it's where she went the last time and I'm guessing it's where she went now."
"Alright. Thank you. "
"Call me when you find her."
"I will."
I hung up and made my way back to my car.
When I arrived at the lake I was lost. She could be anywhere here. I began walking around asking people if they have seen her. Just as I'm about to give up she's sitting alone far away from any people I walk towards her. I know she knows I'm here but she stays still.
"Scarlett." I sit down next to her.
"My family is very rich." She starts talking
" My grandfather owns a chain of restaurants worth billions and my father is a famous international actor. So trust me when I say that I get it. You can't fall for someone who is not up to your status. But just know that I won't change myself for you. I won't become the trophy wife I was set to be when I was engaged."
"You were engaged?" My blood begins to boil so that's the bastard who had her before me.
"Yes. We met in college and both of our families expected us to get married so we got engaged when were 19. I know how the other half lives Nicholas. I know the expectations of a woman and that's what I've been running from all these years."
"I love you Scarlett and I don't expect anything from you."
"What?"
"I said I love you and I want everything with you."
"Nicholas I barely know you."
"Please don't call me Nicholas. And we can get to know each other better. Let's start over I know I approached this whole relationship wrong but that's because I wanted to make sure you would stay with me."
She kept her eyes on the horizon I think I just lost her. I'm waiting and waiting for a response but she says nothing. I about to leave when she kisses me. I kiss her sweetly and tenderly as if we will never kiss again.
"Hi." She smiles at me.
"Hi." I smile back.
"Will you go on a date with me Scarlett Levi?"
She pretends she's thinking about it and I start to tickle her tackling her to the ground.
"Say yes."
"Yes yes yes a million yeses!"
"I love you." She says to me. She smiles at me and kissed me. I know she's mine.
